"It's a small lovely hotel. The staffs are nice but they dont speak much English. If you need pick up at train station, call them ahead. They dont answer emails or dont often check messages thru 3rd party. We booked thru Expedia, sent multiple messages, waited for 2 months, no responded. Luckily my cousin was in Tokyo for 3 months of work and she called the hotel for me. Many thanks to the driver. He waited for us at train station very late at night. The food was very good. The room are very clean and cozy. Private onsen was a plus. My husband who doesnt like to do onsen by himself, at this hotel he can do onsen with me. The view of yellow leaves from the out door onsen was super beautiful"

The host, Craig, is truly exceptional — friendly, hardworking, and constantly going out of his way to make sure guests feel comfortable and taken care of. "The outside of the buildings looked a little old, but inside, it was very clean and very comfortable with an impressive amount of helpful appliances for food and temperature/humidity comfort. The shower and bedroom were particularly nice. I would have given this hotel a perfect 5 star rating, but unfortunately the bedroom window (Room #7) faced a separate residential house that had many very loud and annoying dogs that barked every day from 6am to 12pm without stopping. It was very hard to get sleep because of this. It's not the hotel's fault, but people staying in Room #7 should be aware of this. Also, it is a 15 minute to the nearest bus stop."

"Our stay was reasonably comfortable, except for a few small factors: 1. It’s a shame that they allow smoking in the rooms because we are non-smokers and smoke particles cannot be completely eradicated from the room even with a room humidifier and spray fragrance. So we could not be as comfortable as we normally would be had it been a non-smoking room. My request to the property is to create more non-smoking rooms to be available or completely eradicate smoking rooms, period! Because smokers can easily go outside the door and have a smoke. There’s no reason to smoke it up where they eat and sleep! 2. The fan in the bathroom is on 24 hours a day. When its the dead of winter and you’re freezing. It’s a very freezing cold shower if you wish to conserve hot water and not let the water running while you soap up. Then you have that fan running blowing cold air into the shower room. My request to the property is to change the fan so it can be operated by a switch. I know they want to cut down on the mold factor but for goodness sakes, part of the housekeeping job is to clean the shower and if they do that after every check out, there won’t be a chance for mold to grow. So no reason to have the fan on 24 hours a day without a switch to turn it off by the guests!! PLEASE DO BETTER! Robert Speaker"
