Situated in a peaceful area, but within distance of things to do and places to visit. We loved the cosy cottage, everything we needed and lovely comfy beds!John was a very kind and helpful host, he is a great source of information on the area and recommended some great places to eat out.Would definitely visit this part of the UK again!
Cottage was cozy. Small, not fancy, but it has everything you need. The beds were very comfy. Communication with the landlord excellent. Very convenient location to walk into town if you need anything. Our three nights went very quickly!

We enjoyed the area very much and the owner was very helpful about providing information about local things to do. We found the cottage disappointing and not good value for the amount we paid. It was not very clean and did not live up to the image presented in the photos, for example carpets were worn and stained, some of the outdoor furniture was broken, the living area was cluttered, large packages were stacked on top of the wardrobe, some paintwork was scuffed and peeling. With some improvements to decoration it could be a really lovely place to stay.

Kington Holiday
We enjoyed our holiday and the really lovely countryside in this part of Herefordshire. Walks and bike rides were wonderful as well as excellent garden visiting.
We were a bit disappointed by the cottage. It was not as clean as we expected and was quite cluttered e.g. large paintings stored behind the bedroom door. The internal paintwork needs refreshing and the garden table and sun shade are quite unappealing. For a four star property at the price paid, the standard should have been higher.
The cottage is ideal for up to 4 people, well equipped and in a quiet location.
There is a lot of information for walkers and gardens and NT properties within easy reach to visit.
We had a fortnight and never ran short of somewhere different to walk or visit.
The only lack is that Kington does not provide many opportunities for eating out.
Well equipped and comfortable cottage in a good location for walking. Owners very helpful and accommodating.

Hobbit House!
A lovely cottage but small.
It had everything that we needed and I could manage the cooker and hob effectively.
The bathroom has just had a refurbishment and catered for us well.
It is in a lovely position near enough to walk into the town and surrounded by beautiful countryside.
Unfortunately the dish washer was not working and the garden table could not be used either as the tiles around the edges were very loose. I also had to scrub all the mugs before use as they were heavily stained. I even had to bleach two of them as the stains were so entrenched.
Nevertheless we enjoyed our stay.

Cosy cottage in an excellent location
The location of the cottage was very good, about 10 minutes walking into Kington & handy for the main road. It was warm & comfortable with a well equipped kitchen. The bathroom could do with some updating though the shower was good. Despite the proximity to the main road it was quiet & there was some good walking right from the door - Hergest Ridge & Bradnor Hill.
Plenty of places to eat in Kington, Presteigne or Knighton. Stunning scenery round about.

Utterly delightful cottage, could not have been happier with everything. A real home from home.
Everything clean and fresh and lovely, this is the most well-equipped cottage we have ever stayed in, even had thermos flasks and a pizza cutter! Verena could not have been more helpful. Walks literally from your doorstep, we crossed over the road, down a public footpath and walked up to Hergest Croft Gardens. We came with our nearly fifteen year old daughter and had a great time, but perfect for honeymooners, (I would imagine it would be very cosy in winter), small families or two couples. Perfectly positioned for Kington which must be the friendliest town in England! We came without a car, took a train to Hereford, and using the reliable Sergents buses (timetable essential) found it all doable, Went to charming Weobly, Water Break it's Neck Waterfall (ask the driver and he will stop for you) and ventured into Wales. It is worth coming here just to visit the Small Breeds Farm and Owl Centre, again we walked, bit of a trek ,but perfect on a sunny day. Brilliant for All ages!
The top garden is enclosed and lovely and more loveliness waits you at the end of the garden??! If you are after peace and quiet, yet want lots to do and a cosy cottage to return to then this is the place for you. Perfect! A million thanks.

Great Cottage
We stayed at the cottage and found it to be very comfortable. Myself, wife and 3 boys had a fantastic holiday in Kington. Did some walks from the house including Hergest Ridge. If you can make it to Elan Valley would recommend as real hidden gem, great for bike riding. First time visitors to the area and really fell in love with the place. The cottage is well equipped, we mainly ate at home in evenings and wasn't lacking for any kitchen equipment. The town was just a short walk away via churchyard. Wi-fi worked well, a definite for teenage son on his phone.

Lovely property with everything you will ned for your stay
We found the property entirely clean and with everything in place. Everything is provided to make the stay comfortable. The lack of direct parking was not an issue for us. we had a small issue with a lock which was dealt with promptly and efficiently.
A lovely area to stay in. Great road links to the whole area.

lovely cottage
Description is accurate, a lovely cottage with a pretty garden. facilities top class. parking is about 50 yards away at the bottom of the one way avenue. Not a problem. Great place for both walking and driving. The west coast is about 1 hour away along the very quiet A44. Well worth the effort. Near by The Westonbury Mill Water Gardens are superb, if you like beautiful natural gardens, only 5-10 minutes away in the black and white village area - worth a look at the living past. Hay-on Wye is about 20 minutes away and easy to get to over the river toll bridge (£1 to cross). Lots of interesting places to visit in the general area.
Staying indoors, a beautiful 4 poster awaits. Bathroom facilities fine. Kitchen well kept and a great living room.
Enjoy.

Charming and comfortable cottage
I had a lovely weekend staying in this cottage with two university friends. It was a great setting for catching up over elaborate meals cooked together in the modern kitchen, sitting around the cosy fireplace, and going for long walks in the beautiful hills nearby.
