"Good property in a great location, excellent grounds and access to the beach which the dogs loved. Good quality kitchen , just missing a small welcome pack which we normally have when we go for a cottage stay, its always useful. Bedrooms were a bit basic and didn’t like not having a full shower, some small details need to be looked at, curtains in lounge with mis- matched or broken curtain rings. Overall we had a great stay in a lovely part of Scotland."

"This is a cracking flat within a short walk of Dumfries town centre. From the outside, the flats don’t look too inspiring, but it’s clearly been renovated recently and it’s been done really nicely. The two rooms are pretty much identical doubles, and the living room/kitchen is a good size. Nice views of the river from most rooms, and a lovely small balcony coming off the main living area. Would definitely come back if in the area."

"The Dumfries Holiday Inn was an overnight stay for us. The room was large and comfortable, and in the new part of the building. It was clean and functional and we had no complaints. The dinner was of a good standard, and the staff handled a change of order mid-way well. We had wine served in a slightly dirty glass, but that was dealt with promptly and with an apology and minimal fuss. The bar staff, waitress and waiter couldn’t have nicer. There was a suggestion made about a walk round the really interesting grounds of the university that the hotel sits in. The waitress knew about a map that reception had but the receptionist did not. That was sorted, so an early morning walk was taken and enjoyed. Breakfast was good and very much enjoyed. Check out was simple. A good hotel, that we would recommend and would stay at again."

"I think it was the third time I have stayed here and as in the previous occasions I have nothing negative to say about it. My single room was spacious, the shower was good, the bed nice and firm. I didn't have my room serviced each day by choice but was asked if I wanted it to be. The hospitality tray was topped up well too. Breakfast was plentiful so yes all good."

"This hotel exceeded our expectations, so much so we stayed an extra night. The staff go the extra mile to ensure you are happy and enjoying your break. We met other couples that had returned to the hotel and been doing this for years. The food served was delicious and plentiful. We had the roast of the day on both evenings and they were massive portions all cooked to perfection. We could not decide on our favourite between roast turkey or roast beef. Hat off to their chef! With a choice of breakfast meals all cooked fresh. We had eggs benedict on one day and full cooked yesterday both divine. We loved the hotel and customer service so much we will return even though we live 6 hours away. Thank you to Greenhill Hotel."
