OCEANFRONT! OUTER BANKS CENTRAL LOCATION. Just a mile and a half from the Wright Memorial Bridge and 1/2 mile north of Kitty Hawk. Steps to the ocean from dune deck dining area overlooking the beach ***SOUTHERN SHORES has PRIVATE BEACHES only for residents and their guests/renters. Consequently, the beach areas are not crowded.***
***Private home with convenient CENTRAL location for visiting sites to the north (Duck, Corolla and off road north beaches) OR south (Wright Brothers, Nags Head, Lost Colony and sound/sea excursions).***
CUSTOM OCEANFRONT HOME with hexagonal open ceiling (cypress) in main house area with views of the ocean from the great room with adjoining dining area. The well equipped kitchen provides plenty of space to create meals and orchestrate morning coffee (drip coffee maker & Keurig).***
THE MAIN UPPER LEVEL is accessible from either the lower level entrance off the driveway carport or from the upstairs front porch to the home's foyer.*** An outside ramped walkway (NOTE: not ADA compliant due to steep slope) from the front of the house to the ocean side (back) of the property provides direct access to the dune top deck and to the upstairs main living area of the home and oceanfront deck, WITHOUT ANY STEPS. This has been useful to guests who have difficulty with steps and also for aging four footed furry family members!***
MAIN LEVEL LAUNDRY AREA is stocked with all the linens you will need for your visit (100% cotton sheets for all beds, bath towels & BEACH TOWELS).***
DECKS, HOUSE AND DUNE, provide panoramic views and multiple sitting areas to enjoy the 360 degree vista. There is a shaded lower level deck with table and chairs, barbecue grills (gas and charcoal) and an outside shower. Umbrellas, both deck and beach, beach chairs, boogie boards and 2 ocean kayaks are supplied as well.***
LOWER LEVEL has pool table and flat screen TV providing kids (young and old) a place to play.***

The location is wonderful. You are on the beach with beautiful decks and seating areas. The beach is lovely, especially for walking. The house is nicely appointed. Very comfortable and spacious. We had a few questions that were answered promptly. We loved the proximity to local stores for groceries as we preferred to cook our meals and enjoyed them in the spacious dining room or outside on the many decks. We plan to return again!

An amazing property with beach front access and sunrise views. House was a perfect location for a stop to explore the OBX. Grocery store and dine-out options within 5 minutes. Kitty Hawk and Corolla nearby. House was immaculate and well stocked. Beds are super comfortable. Even plush towels. Sunny afternoons for lunch on the beach-side deck. Added plus was welcoming our rescue dog who travels with us and loves beach walks and sniffs. We hope to return for an extended visit.

Pet friendly but did not have ruminants of past pets (no odors, stains, etc). Extremely clean. Kitchen well stocked and functional. A lot bigger and brighter than expected. Easy access to the beach out the back door. deck area fenced in with a gate. Would recommend!

Warm & inviting oceanfront home, filled with everything you need for a stress free stay. Detailed instructions, easy and timely communication, clean and comfortable. Really enjoyed playing the piano and browsing through the shelves of reading books ! The layout of the home with two bedroom wings simplifies any sleeping arrangements. Being dog-friendly is especially appreciated! Thank you for sharing your beach home.

This comfortable cottage is our favorite home away from home. We love staying here because it feels like home and has whatever we need for an enjoyable stay: the kitchen has plenty of dishes/utensils/appliances, the beds are comfortable, there are plenty of linens, and we can pack light because of the washer/dryer. Outside has lots of tables/seating, and the access to the beach is perfect. The home is also ideally situated for access to grocery, shopping, restaurants, and also other part of the outer banks

We had another lovely stay at your home. We are getting older now so R&R is our focus. All of the amenities make it easy to enjoy the house. That being said as older people, we both found the furniture very soft and you sink in and it’s hard to get out of. I’m sure that’s not a problem for younger folk, but I think worth mentioning.Thank you for allowing us to use your home. It’s truly a great location.

This was an amazingly good location with obviously easy access to the beach and a convenient distance from groceries, etc. But I can’t say enough about how comfortable and pleasant the home is. We have rarely stayed in a rental location that felt so little like a garden-variety vacation rental and so much like a home. We stumbled upon this as a last-minute rental and immediately began looking forward to returning for at least a two-week stay. Also, communication with the owner could not have been better. We had a couple of questions early on and her responses were very quick and very helpful. The home itself, and the friendliness of the owner, make this an ideal vacation spot.

This is the third time we stayed here, the last being about 8 years ago. The property is well-maintained and only improved over the years. Everything you need for a great vacation is here. The house includes all bed linens, bath towels, beach towels, and beach accessories (multiple umbrellas, 8 chairs, even kayaks.If you are a family it is fantastic to pack only your clothes for a vacation. Then just buy groceries at Food Lion or Walmart about a mile away a d you are good to go.The beach access is incredible and even with OBX’s recently built up dunes, it is literally 30 seconds from the home’s deck slider to the sand. We don’t even bring a cooler onto the beach as it’s 30-60 seconds back to the house from the ocean.The dune deck and primary decks are both great.Rent this home. You will not be sorry.
