“The Boathouse is on the river and next to the Grosvenor Park with is very pretty and a nice area to walk through to get to the city centre. “We actually found this hotel and swapped it for our original one after seeing it was over £100 for 4 nights, bargain! Staff were lovely, polite and really accommodating. I saw a few bad reviews complaining about the noise, but it is on a main road so it is to be expected and in all honesty, the noise isn't as bad as you'd think. The rooms were clean and cosy, can't fault a bit of Netflix on a smart TV.. Lovely stuff.The bathrooms were spotless, and I'm fussy about them. Another great quality……

“This is certainly not a place you will stumble across on your way to somewhere else, but it's certainly worth a visit. A great boutique hotel with comfortable and interesting rooms. Great surroundings and wonderful view across the Wirral. A menu which is significantly more interesting than the standard 'pub menu'. The prawn pil pil was particularly tasty. “The Courthouse hotel is beautifully decorated and our room was spacious and tastefully decorated. The bar staff were so polite and attentive end even made me Zombie cocktails which were off the menu and where the best I've had in many years. Thank you for a lovely stay. We'll definitely be back. ”

"I’ve stayed at this hotel a few times before, but unfortunately this visit was by far the worst. The air conditioning in the room wasn’t working, and this was never mentioned at check-in. I only discovered it after entering the room. To make matters worse, the room phone was also broken, so I had to walk back to reception to report it. Only then was I told that some of the hotel rooms had been without air conditioning for a while. Instead of offering a solution straightaway, the receptionist asked how many children I had. When I replied “just one”, I was simply told there were no available rooms with working air conditioning. It left me with the impression that if I’d had more children, I might have been given priority, which felt rather unfair. Finally I was only given an extra fan. That night was extremely hot, and both adults and children in the room struggled to sleep properly. The hotel really should handle this situation better. At the very least, guests should be notified by email or phone in advance. If I had known even a day earlier, I would have cancelled the booking and stayed elsewhere."
