"The hotel is up a steep sloping street and in a quiet area. It has a traditional feel and the cafe is really nice and the hot springs, however there is no view, unless you pay for the private baths upstairs. "We Americans stayed here for 2 nights. Highly recommended. Great cultural experience for those looking for an authentic ryokan in an older style building with communal bathing facilities. Japanese breakfast was really fun but I had little idea what I was eating. Go with an open mind! I was glad there were a couple of very helpful staff who spoke some English. It is only about a 5 minute walk from Yugawara JR station, the room itself was very nice (we booked a traditional Japanese style room) and in it there were hot water facilities for tea, private bathroom, AC and TV. "The staff at CousCous were incredible! They were so kind and diligent. We felt at home from the start.
