Lovely relaxed and friendly vibe at this compact, well-located hotel. Easy access from Shiju station. Lots of dining options nearby, and good food at the hotel. The free sake tasting and happy hour prices were a bonus. Families with children seemed welcomed and catered for.

Friendly place close to Shijo subway. Breakfasts were nice, rooms a little hot and small, would be good if you could open windows. Communal area really hip and food and cocktails were good value. Would recommend

Amazing hotel with really good amenities and really friendly staff. Free sake in the lobby for hotel guests too! It's a bit further out from Gion, but it makes up for it being really close to a train station and with really nice little restaurants and cafes in the side streets nearby. For what we paid, I highly recommend staying here.

Best hotel I stayed! Lovely breakfast choice! Room is reasonable side in Japan standard! Walking distance to public transit. The only thing was the breakfast area has a strong smell from cooking but hotel provides refresher!

Great nice stay.
This hotel is great. Internal decor and space design and allocation in the room is very good, making the best use of the space. The condition of the hotel is new. Breakfast is well presented. The staff are also very hospitable and genuinely pleasant. They are also good in English. Good location as well.

Superb hotel in great location
We loved Imu Hotel. The staff were fantastic - very friendly and helpful. The room wasn't a bad size and the bathroom was well equipped and clean. The futons were the most comfortable that we had during our stay in Japan. Breakfast was delicious - a choice of 4 different breakfast dishes each day and they were all great. Location was excellent - we were able to walk everywhere and there are some nice restaurants and bars near the hotel. Couldn't fault this hotel!

Hotel is convenient and nice to stay
This hotel is convenient and nice to stay. There are a coffee machine and tea counter as well as cold water machine for you. But in the morning there is not enough hot water for you especial in the winter time now. The tatami room is clean but it's a bit small. Toilet was clean.

清潔でモダンなお部屋
ダブルのシングルユースで利用しました。 オープンしたばかりのとても綺麗で広々としたお部屋で大満足です。 料金が抑えられているので、致し方ないのかもしれませんが、 スリッパとパジャマが備え付けでなかったのは少々不便でした。 それを差し引いても、気持ちの良い時間が過ごせました。 スタッフの皆さんも、皆さん明るく接してくださいました。 また機会があれば、利用させていただきたいと思います。

Perfect stay in Kyoto
We loved our stay at the IMU Hotel in Kyoto. The location was a short walk from the metro and within walking distance of the main shopping area and sights. Our room was super practical, clean, and came with everything we required for our stay. The lobby area was super comfortable and stylish and it was great to have a socialising area and bar within the hotel along with an affordable breakfast option. Also great to have the laundry facilities. All the staff were super friendly and nice. I seek out independent properties like this one and they are always such a pleasure to stay at. Thank you for a great stay!

Check-in is a little complicated considering you’re in transit for 18hrs and then you have to manually check in using the IPad. We just wanted to get into our room and rest. Also, checking out is at 10am... 11am would have been better.

This hotel is run a little differently than a "normal" corporate hotel but offers just as much! The room was very minimal but that's all we needed. We somehow scored the room with the tatami mats and a terrace which was amazing. Hanging out on the terrace at night with a couple drinks was definitely one of the most memorable parts of our stay! Hanging out at the hotel bar was also a relaxing way to decompress after long days of sight seeing. Highly recommend this hotel (especially the room with the terrace!)

A "large" room on the second floor is really not a room at all. It was small and dark. Its window faced a wall of the adjacent building so no natural light can get through. The room had only a few small lights so it was dim all the time. In addition, it was very tight for three people - no where to leave luggage or sit. You can only sit on the bed. It would be impossible to move comfortably in the room for three people.

Budget/Family Friendly Hotel in the Heart of Kyoto
This was a clean, hostel-like hotel with a really youthful vibe. The futons were firm and comfortable and the bathroom was spacious by Japanese standards. The room felt a little dark and small but the lobby was an inviting place to go and read or sit. The location was GREAT in terms of getting to the subway, Nishiki Market and lots of places to eat.

Small but comfortable room. One bed was lofted and the other was beneath which worked just fine for our family. On the first floor they had a spacious gathering area. We used it to relax, play games, and plan for our day. Breakfast was available for ¥780 and was filling and tasty. We didn’t use them but they had bikes available.

Heating/AC mode is controlled for room floor rather than the room itself. After first night, the entire floor was switched to heat mode (apparently as per a single guest request) on our level which made the night sleep quite hot and uncomfortable for mid-April.

I like the space. So pretty. The room is so exclusive too but u have to fight for extra pillow. The space is enough to either sleep or open up your luaggage. The private toilet is woohoo. Amazing

Hotel was chic and modern with free gaming area. Hotel staff are friendly! Not to mention is is next to a convenience stall and Anytime Fitness!
