Beware! Fraud! Bait and Switch!!!!
DO NOT RENT THIS PROPERTY!!!! We booked this apartment for 5 days using the instant confirmation. My trip was delayed and we missed the first night, but let our host know by email that we would instead be be coming in the next morning. We were sent an email letting us know where to go when we arrived to meet our host, along with a telephone number to call. When arriving in London, we were sent us to a different address which ended up being a shabby apartment which had not been cleaned after the last guest had left and was not even in the same location!
At first they claimed we had rented that unit (even though it was being cleaned when we arrived - remember we rented the night before as well), but I sent the paperwork with pictures to the email address of the person with whom we had been corresponding. I asked them to provide the apartment we had rented or like kind or cancel on their end so VRBO could help us to find another rental unit. Then by email, they stated there was no hot water at the apartment we rented, and the water didn't work well in that whole apt. building (note the huge bathtub shot in the pictures) then they claimed when called by phone, that there was no water at all the apartment we rented, and it went on and on from there. After the owner kept stalling and would not actually do anything to help, I called VRBO and because the owner of the property would not answer and cancel on that end, they were unable to help me even though I had the so called "book with confidence".
After hours and hours of being stranded in a foreign country with no where to stay at dark, we had to scramble to find somewhere and paid 3X as much just to stay near our original location. Eventually and days later, after calling to find resolution and being told to call back again and again that they were waiting on Expedia to do something, I asked if I should just dispute it with my card company, but they said no that if I did that I would VOID the "Book with Confidence"
Days and many phone calls later VRBO told me to dispute it with my card company, as they now considered it fraud. (They still could not refund my money without talking to the owner, and the owner could not be contacted.) What a terrible mess. Don't rent here! Also, have a care when renting from VRBO international as well. This so called Book with Confidence guarantee is NO guarantee at all.
