Bring good earplugs. The ones they provide are meh
They provided earplugs, fan, and a sound machine (with dead batteries) as they know it's LOUD there. Train noise I can deal with. But it wasn't just the train and car noises. The Pub below. Every night there was yelling/ arguing/ talking loudly until 3am. Doors slamming all hours of the late night into early morning. TV volume was locked and couldn't hear TV over the people yelling outside at the pub. The shower door was really loud. The toilet should be replaced. The sink had a bad clog. Washing hands it would back up. We stayed for 5 days no service. Had the same sheets for 5 days. (We shower at night and wouldn't sit on the bed so it was okay) Not close to food or stores. There was the Pub and a convenience store. As for location Big Ben & The Eye was a 20 min walk. There's a bus that you can catch right out front but, for us it was easier to walk the 1/2 mile to Vauxhall station. The positive things I can think of 1) Water Dispenser 2) Coffee Maker 3) They did provide Shampoo, conditioner, body wash and lotion. None of which I used but, they were there! 4) Provide a international converter.

The property was very clean. It provided toiletries which was a great gesture. Unfortunately we were on the third floor and the stairs with luggage was a killer as there was no lift. Also the only water machine was on the first floor. Yea and coffee machine was in a cupboard but had to carry it out and setup as there was nowhere in the cupboard to plug in. Also there were mugs not cups provided and they were too tall to fit the machine. I would still definitely stay again as the room and bathroom were spotless and it is in a great location. The gastro pub next door was also great for food and atmosphere.

There is no front desk, after going back to the listing I realized it was mentioned but I think it can definitely be clearer. You have to download the app ahead of time and manage the check in process. Location was great and close to main attractions. No AC just a fan. Room and bathroom were nice.

My main concern was the chicken process. Do you need to have a door code emailed to you, and you need to verify yourself before receiving it. This is all supposed to happen prior to arrival. It didn’t. So I was standing on the street in the evening Trying to make this happen. To be honest, I didn’t feel safe standing there.

What I did not like was that I ended up being locked out of the property on several occasions because my code stopped working. One was at the middle of the night. I appreciate that there are no working staff but I believe there should have been a place we could take out rubbish/trash and also dispose of dirty/soiled towels rather than having to leave the towels in our room for the duration of our stay.

Very good service, too noisy
The location, condition and service at the Sonder are generally very good. My only complaint is the noise level. I was travelling for work, and the noise from the street as well as other units was very noticeable. Also, the hotel is above a pub/restaurant, and the music could be heard through the floor. It would have also been nice to have a small fridge in the room since there is no kitchen on premises. I did need some additional services while I was there (an adapter) and the staff helped me out right away.

Basically this is a room with key-pad entry. Room was fine, but windows had no noise attenuation, passing vehicles and their radios could be clearly heard as if windows were open (they weren’t). Coffee maker in room but not so much as a clock or alarm. Location was great for us but otherwise would pick a regular hotel.

This isn’t a hotel in the traditional sense. The rooms are above a pub/restaurant and the entrance is down a lane. The room was basic but clean and the bed was comfortable. The en-suite was excellent and the room was very clean. As there wasn’t a reception I received a welcome call advising there was a cupboard where we could get extra supplies if required. The windows are only single glazed which meant the traffic noise was heard very clearly. Thankfully we didn’t get much noise from the pub below but we were staying midweek. The only real annoyance was the guy from the pub below parked his card in the lane leading to the entrance and this made it difficult to access, if you had luggage with you it would be almost impossible to get to the door without hitting off the car.

The property is not as pictured! I had to get an entirely new hotel room due to my day and I not feeling safe. There was not empathy from the hotel. They informed me I should have researched the area better. Which is a horrible thing to say to a paying customer! It is located on the ghetto in he back of a restaurant in an alley!

The room was great, very clean. No issues getting in/out. The bed was firm but we slept fine, the pillows were uncomfortable. Maid service is optional for a fee. There is a TV w/Netflix capability, coffee maker, hairdryer, noise machine in the room (all helpful) and a community water dispenser (you’ll need a water bottle). No air conditioner but there is a fan and heater (we were comfortable). Everything extra we needed was in a closet for us to grab at our convenience (soap, TP, extra towels, etc). We were on the 3rd floor, it was 60 steps to get to our room, a lot of work with luggage, but doable. We got there 2 hrs early and were able to get into the building fine and put our things in storage. There are only 3 luggage lockers for the whole building and they could use more, some people who arrived after us were unable to store theirs. There is a nice pub/restaurant (Jolly Gardeners) just outside the building, great for lunch/dinner/drinks, the food was delicious. There is also a convenience store just outside the building with food, drinks and meds. There was restaurant (Queens Head) on the other corner, they were closed during our Christmas week stay, but looks like it would be good for breakfast. Instead, we had an amazing and inexpensive breakfast and at The Corner Cafe (5 min walk). We walked to London eye (15 ish minutes). The area looks a little rundown and we felt uneasy when walking the neighborhood but were told the area is safe. We would stay again.

I was visiting to take part in an important work related assessment. I was woken each and every morning by trains, road works, and passing traffic. I had an idea when I saw ear plugs were provided that this was going to be an issue. You allude to it in your in room literature. I put the earplugs in every night but inevitably they would come out during the night, meaning that eventually I would be woken up by noise outside. The upshot of this was that I went into work feeling tired and by the third morning, completely washed out due to lack of sleep. Something needs to be done in respect of better windows to sound proof the room better. Pity, as I like the concept of Sonder, but I’m afraid this accommodation falls short.

Really friendly and helpful staff, they responded to my queries almost immediately! The room was good too, not a bad stay overall. However, this place is ideal for short term stays. Not so great for long term stays for the follow reasons: No fridge, no microwave, no dishes/cutlery, the room isn’t cleaned during stays (you would have to pay for that separately), no lifts which makes climbing up and down 5 million (I’m exaggerating) flights of stairs annoying after day 2. Great for short term stays of a few days and not ideal for longer periods of more than a week.

Centrally located. Great if you’re nimble on your feet. 1 bus service at the stop right outside the property, 3 more at the end of the road along Albert Embankment (about 5 minutes walk). Nearest tube isn’t that close by, a bit of a walk (easily 15 minutes)… but you won’t feel it if the weather is gorgeous. No lifts so be wary if you have heavy luggage. Room was clean, furnishing and bathroom fixtures of good quality. I don’t mind the fact that there wasn’t any housekeeping. But I believe housekeeping on demand should not be chargeable. Essentials cabinet contain toiletries and coffee/tea/sugar, would have been nice to have a linen cabinet for towel swaps etc. The “no-key” access is brilliant. I didn’t feel the lack of a reception/concierge a problem as the hotel was very responsive over the app. I know this because there was a constant smell of smoke in the property, and it set off the smoke alarm one morning. Staff were sent within minutes of my contacting them, and the alarm was silenced. The smoke smells remained throughout my 8 night stay, so I hope they sort it out. Anyway, I think it’s great for short stays and if you’re travelling light, and if you plan to just use the place to sleep.

The check-in process went exactly as described. The room was large and the bathroom was bright and lovely. Everything was very clean. The bed was large and comfortable. The amenities were of good quality and good amounts. I liked very much that there was no maid service, made me feel reassured that my room was going to be just as I left it upon my return. It was a short walk to Southbank, Waterloo and Vauxhall stations, and above a yummy pub The Jolly Gardner. I was able to just walk to the Eye and all the diversions of that area, and I sat having breakfast with Big Ben every morning. I would stay again.

Great night’s stay
Great, bright room with very comfy bed and gorgeous shower. The only things that would have made the stay even better would be a kettle - only a coffee machine in room, also air conditioning would be beneficial as it was very warm, even with the fan supplied. The water machine out on the corridor is a great idea. A jug or water bottle would be an added bonus so that you can fill up more at once.

Larm fra baren (underboen) - de lukker kl. 23, men larm i lang tid efter + musik fra kl. 8 (tænker at personalet møder der). Ingen lyd-isolering mellem værelser. Hotellet angiver at have lockers, som man kan bruge efter check ud. Der findes 2 små og 1 stor locker til 20 værelser. Derfor måtte vi betale for at opbevare vores kufferter på Kings Cross Station.

The room was clean and have a great location. The stay was in general quite pleasant. However, I was staying 5 nights there and each time when I walk to the room with the essentials on the 3rd floor there were no towels left which means for me that the Sonder staff was not checking and did not care at all to refill. We had for 5 days the same towels... This is not really a hotel.

Nice room, looked like the picture. Toilet door was a bit squeeky and you could hear the restaurant guests that where sitting outside quite loudly from room #1 (if you like to sleep early it could be a problem, usually quite after 11 pm)

They called as hotel… The entrance was on trashyard of the pub downstairs. Very noisy room and no services. With same price we could have better hotel in better location and services elswhere! I do not recommend this hotel to anyone!
