I’ve stayed here many times at this hotel and loved the location which can’t be beaten to be honest, and have never had an issue but my recent stay was not up the usual standard. I stayed in a quad room on the 1st floor. But the room has got rather disheveled . The carpets were stained and dirty looking the curtains had obviously been washed but not ironed and hid peeling paint work .However the main complaint is towards staff in the hotel 5/12/25. between 10.10-11 am Room 10 knock on our door while packing, We were met with an accusatory attitude, from a staff member claiming we had set the fire alarm off — a completely baseless accusation. I should mention that no fire alarm was set off in the room , no appliances were on no smoking etc but accused we were of setting the fire alarm off . Next, one minute to check out as we were gathering our bags to leave another knock on the door a member off staff told us to leave as it’s check out . Really don’t need to be told especially as just minutes earlier the other member of staff would have see us nearly packed .Ive literally been to many hotel and never been asked to leave and check out .The attitude is totally unacceptable and I couldn’t wait to get out. This stay has completely changed my view of the hotel. Sadly, I will not be returning again ,and I would urge other travellers to think carefully before booking until improvements are made

The Fielding is a no frills hotel with few amenities, at a reasonable cost, but its location can’t be beat, and for a traveler to London that should be the most important thing. Also, its staff is terrific ! We will be back.

Perfect location with friendly reception

Very nice experience. Stayed in a 4 person accommodation. Second bed/sleeping couch was a bit firm/thin and not much extra space with both beds in use. But large bathroom and very friendly staff who helped handle luggage up and down the stairs. Quiet street just a stone throw from center of the center of Covent garden and theatre events. We enjoyed it and felt it was good value for money.

A really great stay, and while the hotel is a little tired in places (curtains hanging off the runner in room 32) the bed was really comfy and clean, location was perfect and staff were all lovely….would stay again, just because of these things - was able to check in early and reception team were super helpful.

Initially we thought we had made a mistake. The hotel is very basic and a bit run down but the staff is very helpful and moved us to a larger room (our first was very small). Our room had the bed as you come in and bathroom and desk downstairs. It was a nice change and did us well for 4 of our 5 nights. The area around the hotel is convenient for everything. Lots of restaurants, stores, theaters and the opera house across the street. If you are looking for a pretty affordable hotel that isn’t very modern but in a great location, you will like the Fielding. Great spot to explore a beautiful area of London.

Pros-The location was very good. Staff was pleasant and accommodating. There were noisy people right above us so we complained. They handled the complaint and we did not have any more issues. Cons- The Wifi was spotty. The sink did not drain well. The carpet in Room 10 where we stayed was stained all throughout the room. It was not pleasant. The walls were dirty.

Nice looking room spoiled by faulty amenities. Toilet was out of order which wasn’t a problem in itself but there were towels left on the floor where something was leaking and it smelled of urine! There was black mould on the ceiling and totally unsanitary, we blocked off the room but could still smell it through the night

Got very little sleep as very noisy from outside due to fact window was jammed open, no way to close. Staff must have known this was the case. Also smell of damp and fusty. Also lots of noise from other rooms and general service noises
