"Our experience was perplexing from the start, with directions so inadequate that we had to ask the way. When we arrived I was attacked by geese at large in the grounds. Despite profuse apologies from the owner's wife, and the geese then confined to a wired pen, the owner said he wouldn't be lectured, walking away when I offered some advice on the facilities. "I stayed in the signature suite as a last minute booking and it was wonderful. The staff were exceptional, especially the receptionist and the night porter (tall bald man, I wish I had asked his name). The only let down was the lack of a cooked breakfast in the morning due to the chef not being able to get in, these things happen I understand, just a shame. "
