“The room was very clean. It was close to the train station, but it was also close to the promenade and ferry. You cannot hear any trains whatsoever. This is not a hotel, we were promised to be contacted one week before check in about its details, however, 3 days before check in nobody contacted us. for us, visiting from different country, in the season where no hotels were available, that was stressful enough. I sent a message via Expedia and was told that someone would contact us shortly. All……

“We chose to spend a night here for our honeymoon. The hotel provides a very convenient—and free—shuttle service, which is incredibly thoughtful given that Varenna is a town nestled on a hillside. They can pick you up and drop off anytime from either the train station or the ferry pier ! The location is also perfect—right across from the church and just a short walk to the romantic lakeside path. Upon arrival, the staff greeted us with warm hospitality and pleasantly surprised us with a room……

“Villa Reverie is gorgeous. Aspect looking out across Lake Como is fabulous. Staff are excellent. Customer service exceptional. Would we go again - absolutely. Highly recommend. Having emailed prior to our stay we were collected from the train station by the villa’s shuttle. 2 minute drive (if that). 6minute walk. Welcome on arrival was great. Staff speak good English. Welcome glass of Prosecco (other drinks probably available - but they got us at “Prosecco”). Bags were deposited in our room……

“We enjoyed the Bologna house. It was high up on the hill and could only get there by taxi or bus. Very seldom were we able to find an available taxi and the bus just drove past where we stayed. When we called the property manager and said we were having trouble getting rides, he hung up on us. Property was nice but not a place I would return to.”

“PLEASE READ BEFORE BOOKING THIS PROPERTY Unfortunately, I would not recommend this hotel. It was the most disappointing hotel I stayed at during my trip to Italy. 1. Outdated facilities — No fridge, no electric kettle, no elevator, weak water pressure, and extremely small shower space. Instead of key cards, guests are given a physical key. 2. “Wir waren das zweite Mal im La Darsena und waren wie beim letzten Besuch sehr zufrieden. Der Service ist super, alle Mitarbeitenden sind freundlich und hilfsbereit. Mit Englisch aber auch teilweise Deutsch kommt man sehr gut zurecht. Das Frühstück ist eine tolle Auswahl und auch ein Besuch im Restaurant am Abend ist ein absolutes Highlight.
