Thoughts on our stay at Magliano Alfieri

We have just enjoyed a most wonderful month at the Cornale property in Magliano Alfieri. The property was well disposed and allowed us to enjoy a three generation stay for some of our visit without feeling any pressure on the space. Our grandchildren loved their time visiting the donkeys and the sheep. The area is a very good advert for the range of attractions available in Italy, with excellent food, wine, historic sites and beautiful and interesting villages to visit. All in all a very successful choice of region and property. Thanks

Anniversary Trip

Property was just as listed. It was very comfortable and we really enjoyed our stay. Elena met us as we drove up and explained everything to us about the property. Had a wine tasting in the cellar of the house and we were very impressed with the whole affair. Would recommend the property to anyone wanting to visit the area.

Perfect stay!

Thank you, Elena and your family, for the week you hosted us. Excellent service from you with booking restaurant, organizing transportation to Alba and making our rooms fitting our demands. Besides separate rooms with your own bathroom – important when six couples are travelling together – there was lot of space to be together and a well-equipped kitchen. Nice! For a group coming for the wine this was a perfect place to stay. Barbaresco just around the corner, Barolo and the city of Alba only half an hour away and also the Monferrato area reachable. We visited several wineries but also the truffle market in Alba during the week. Exactly what we hoped for! All of us enjoyed our stay very much!

Not fit for purpose

I have now rented 6 properties through the Vbro site. 5 of them were professionally run, had delightful owners and were as advertised on the site. Due to the unpleasant and hostile behaviour of the host at this site, my friends and I decided ultimately to leave the property three days early. This property was mis-sold on the Vbro site. The house overlooking the pool photographed on the site is NOT the house that we were given. The host’s mother and her dog were in residence on the site in that house. The two fundamental reasons I chose this site were a salinated swimming pool and an isolated house with privacy for quiet enjoyment. Neither were available. The host was not ready when I arrived for handover at 5pm. The house was not finished and I had to wait until 7pm to gain full access. The host also arrived virtually everyday, mid afternoon to hang out vast amounts of laundry on the washing line which I had believed was for our use, when staying at the property. She arrived with two dogs who she allowed to run all around the pool and gardens, when I had two guests who are frightened of dogs. Further she insisted on doing pool and garden maintenance mid-afternoon when my guests were hoping to have privacy by the pool or quiet reading in the gardens. It was all wholly unsatisfactory. The house apparently sleeps 15. We were never more than ten but planned to cook and eat at the property every day. The large kitchen had four bins each with a recycling indication. That was fine but these four bins were the size of the tiny bins you find in a hotel bath room and entirely unfit for purpose. The external bins were also too small and the cardboard bin was full to the brim. We managed to recycle plastic and glass but finally had to put cardboard wrappings in the general waste bag (due to the cardboard external bin being jam full). I mention this because the rubbish facilities were so not fit for purpose for a large kitchen and furthermore the host kept coming round and shouting at me about the general waste bags, refusing to listen to my practical difficulties. One particular incident happened as I was sitting at the end of lunch in the garden with my guests who witnessed her violent and insane rantings at me. Nobody could comprehend this behaviour. There was no adequate poolside furniture for a house for 15 adults. This property was mis-sold and the whole rental experience, unsatisfactory.

La padrona di casa ci ha accolto benissimo nella sua meravigliosa casa. L'ideale per godersi le langhe davanti un camino con un ottimo bicchiere di vino in mano. A 2 chilometri c'è una piccola cantina di amici, I calici, che ha un vino vero del territorio ed un proprietario vecchio stampo. un weekend splendido.

Ein Aufenthalt bei Elena und ihrer Mutter Hertha ist definitiv zu empfehlen. Hertha hat das Haus vor vielen Jahren eigenhändig saniert und lebt auch auf dem Gelände. Das Haus sowie das Anwesen sind richtig schön, gepflegt und die Küche gut ausgestattet. Der Pool ist groß und mit genügend Sitzgelegenheiten ausgestattet. Es gibt kleinere Hunde und eine Katze, die sich frei im Außengelände bewegen sowie Esel in einem Gehege. Besonders sollte man auf eine korrekte mülltrennung Wert legen und sich diese anfangs auch gut erklären lassen. Hertha hat für uns einmal einen Tisch im Restaurant Alfieri (große Empfehlung) und Elena eine Weinprobe organisiert, beides war toll und wir bedanken uns herzlich!

Wunderschöne Ferienwoche

Wir ( 8 erwachsene Personen ) haben eine super Woche in diesem wunderschönen und grossen Haus verbringen dürfen. Elena und ihre Mutter Herta sind sehr gute Gastgeber. Obwohl Herta im angebauten Hausteil wohnt, hatten wir das Gefühl alleine auf diesem grossen Grundstück mit einem schönen grossen Pool zu sein. Wir konnten sie aber jederzeit um einen Tipp für ein gutes Restaurant fragen, wo sie für uns auch die Tischreservation übernahm. Herzlichen Dank! Unser Hund hat sich auch sehr wohl gefühlt im Haus und dem grossen Garten. Er hat sich auch super mit den zwei kleinen lieben Hunden von Herta verstanden, die ab und zu bei uns vorbeischauten:-) Wir können dieses wunderschöne Haus nur empfehlen!

Très bon séjour dans le Piémont !

Nous étions 9 adultes et avons passé un excellent séjour d'une semaine à la location d'Elena. L'accueil a été excellent avec une très bonne communication avec Elena aussi bien avant que pendant le séjour. La maison est très spacieuse, confortable, bien équipée (chaque chambre a sa SDB privée). La location dispose d'un grand terrain sans vis à vis, avec d'un côté, sa grande piscine bien entretenue, et son grand boulodrome, et de l'autre côté, un espace ombragé comprenant un salon de jardin avec sa grande table pour les repas et son braséro. Nous avons bien apprécié les environs : ses nombreux villages perchés, mais aussi Alba, Asti, Turin et la visite de producteurs de vins locaux. Nous recommandons donc la location d'Elena sans hésitation. d'Elena sans hésitation.

Sehr schöner , entspannter Urlaub

Wir hatten einen sehr schönen Familienurlaub bei Elena im Haus. Das Haus ist sehr groß und bietet viel Platz für alle. Es war alles sauber und ordentlich. Der Garten ist groß und der Pool war Klasse.. Wir können diese Unterkunft nur weiterempfehlen. Die Umgebung ist sehr ruhig gelegen. Entspannung ist dort auf jeden Fall möglich.

A fabulous place for a relaxing holiday

Our stay at the Locanda last week was great. It was the perfect place to relax for a few days and catch up with close friends. The kids loved the pool, the adults loved the wine! Elena was really helpful in organising a chef (Michele) to cook for us on some of the nights which made the whole stay even more relaxed as we didn’t have to worry about dinner! The kids loved his pasta Ragu! She also ordered us a good supply of the local wine which we would highly recommend. The Villa has plenty of space and well proportioned bedrooms, all with en suites. The donkeys and dogs were a hit with the kids, although did sometimes disturb a little at night as it was warm and we had the windows open. All in all, we had a great week and hope to go back one day!

Besser geht nicht

Wir waren zu fünft für vier Tage im wunderschönen Landhaus bei Hertha und Elena untergebracht. Was wir da vorgefunden haben, darf man ruhig als PERLE bezeichnen! Ausgesprochen liebenswürdige Gastgeberinnen - unglaublich grosses Haus mit grossen Räumen - perfekte Küche - schöne Zimmer. Wir haben jeden Morgen im wunderschönen Garten gefrühstückt und im grossen Pool gebadet - Urlaub pur. Wenn wir ein Anliegen hatten (Restaurant buchen / Fahrräder mieten / Ausritt mit Pferden) haben und Elena und Hertha alles organisiert. Wir wären gerne noch länger geblieben … und kommen wieder! Vielen lieben Dank Elena und Hertha!

Danke, Herta und Elena!

Wir waren eine achtköpfige Gruppe zwischen 23-56 Jahren und sind mit zwei Autos angereist. Die Moulina Vecchio ist gut ausgeschildert und war einfach zu finden. Sicheres Parken ist auf dem eingezäunten Grundstück möglich. Wir waren direkt begeistert von dem wunderschönen Gelände und dem geräumigen Haus! Die Küche ist sehr groß und gut ausgestattet, so dass wir bequem zusammen kochen konnten. Da wir Anfang Oktober noch einige Sonnentage erwischt haben, konnten wir draußen frühstücken und sogar den tollen Pool nutzen. Der große offene Kamin im Wohnbereich hat uns abends gemütliche Stunden verschafft. Das Feuerholz durften wir uns aus dem Holzschuppen nehmen. Die Betten sind sehr bequem und durch die Ensuite-Zimmer hatte jeder sein eigenes Bad. Sehr komfortabel! Herta und Elena sind sehr nette, hilfsbereite Gastgeberinnen, die uns immer geholfen haben, z.B. bei der Reservierung in einer Pizzaria oder der Beschaffung von extra Wolldecken. Ein Highlight war der Besuch von Alberto, einem lokalen Winzer. Die Wein- und Marmeladenprobe in der Unterkunft hat allen Beteiligten super viel Spaß gemacht! Danke Elena, für diesen tollen Tipp! Da wir jedes Jahr eine andere Gegend Italiens besuchen, werden wir uns wohl nicht wiedersehen, aber sollten wir nochmal nach Asti/Alba reisen, wissen wir, wo wir die Zeit verbringen werden😉. Wir freuen uns, dass wir eure Gäste sein durften und wünschen euch alles Gute für die Zukunft!

Wunderschönes Haus mit Pool das jedoch mal wieder saniert werden sollte!

Elena sowie Ihre Mutter sehr herzlich und hilfsbereit. Das Haus wie auch Der Garten könnte mal „aufgefrischt“ und z.T. saniert werden. Die Lage ist sehr ruhig. Ein Paradies für Hunde in dem großen Gelände!

Séjour parfait

La maison d'Elena est parfaite pour une semaine de vacances en famille, chaque chambre a sa salle de bains, la maison est décorée avec goût et était très propre à notre arrive, la piscine est immense et bien nettoyée. La région est merveilleuse, la location est située tout près de petits villages très pittoresques sur la route des vins d'Asti, et à 15 minutes de la jolie ville d'Alba en voiture. La communication avec Elena a été parfaite tout au long du séjour, elle a été à l'écoute de nos besoins. La maison est mitoyenne à celle des parents d'Elena ce qui est mal précisé dans l'annonce. Ceux-ci sont charmants et très discrets. Des ânes et un chien occupent le terrain. Tout petit hic sur le wifi qui a mal marché pendant tout le séjour. Elena a tenté de réparer le problème mais cela fonctionnait toujours mal. En somme très belles vacances, nous reviendrons sans hésiter.

Nice large vacation house with huge garden and swimming pool

Very nice house, garden and swimming pool. Each bedroom has a full bathroom annex which is very comfortable. The bathrooms are older design but still function well. The kitchen and living room(s) are large and nice. The contact with the owner was excellent and she reacted promptly when we had a problem. The contact with the lady that lives there was also very nice. We had a nice wine tastingin the garden one day. Overall, it was an excellent stay for us (6 adults and 5 children).

Traumferien in einem Traumhaus

Wir hatten wunderbare Grossfamilien Ferien in diesem Haus. Mit den 6 Schlafzimmer die alle ein eigenes Bad hatten war es zu dem auch sehr luxuriös. Es hat unserer Grossfamilie (Grosseltern mit Kindern, Ehepartnern und Enkelkindern) sehr gut gefallen. Das Haus ist so schön, dass man auch bei Regen gerne dort verweilt. Die Vermieterinnen sind so nett und zuvorkommend, dass es für uns traumhaft schön war und wir wieder gehen werden! Herzlichen Dank. Wir freuen uns auf unseren nächsten Besuch im Haus im Jahr 2022 :).

Lovely, comfortable, well-appointed

We could not have asked for a better location to base our group for visiting wineries in the Langhe. Very close to Barbaresco and surrounding villages and a stone's throw to Barolo, Alba and Bra (go to Giolito cheese shop for provisions!) Communication from the owners was excellent. The rooms and beds are comfortable and spacious, bathroom in each room. Kitchen has everything you need for breakfast and light meal prep. We will do this again

Wunderbarer Urlaub mit Großfamilie

Wir waren 11 Tage mit 11 Personen, davon 7 Kinder, dort zu Gast. Es war gabz wunderbar. Es gab einen Salzwasserpool, die Zimmer waren für uns alle ausreichend, groß und gemütlich. Jedes Zimmer hatte ein eigenes Bad. Die Umgebung bietet sich sehr gut für Radtouren an. Haben wjr nicht gemacht. Wir haben lieber die regionalen Weine und die örtlichen Pizzerien genossen. Die Vermieter waren sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Unser Hund hatte genügend Platz und ausreichend Auslauf. Das Grundstück ist riesig und beherbergt in einem abgetrennten Teil sogar 3 Esel. Es war wirklich wunderschön dort. Alle haben es genossen, jeder hatte Platz und Freiraum. Wir würden jederzeit wieder hinfahren.

Gemütliches Landhaus mit geräumigen Zimmern

Grosses Landhaus mit sehr viel Umschwung und eigenem Pool Tolles, geräumiges Wohnzimmer und eine grosse Küche Gut eingerichtete Schlafzimmer mit eigenen Badezimmern Besitzer wohnen in zweitem Hausteil, bei Fragen jederzeit erreichbar.
