Some reviewers complain about the stairs, and there are a lot of stairs, but that's not a big deal for me. I was happy with the initial appearance of the place and it's in a great location--close but not too close to everything you would want in Mammoth Lakes. The view from the dinning room and small balcony is great. That's the plus side. In every other way, from the smell and feel of the SHAG carpet to the patina of stickiness on the cabinet handles, the crumbs found on the dining chair, the uncomfortable furniture, the overall griminess of the whole ensemble, and, what becomes an insufferable repellence to touch anything because it would make you feel soiled with your surroundings--this is just a place I would never stoop to stay in again. If the whole place were gutted and retread, it would be a pretty cool place to use as a base, but we just couldn't take the "feel" of it. Live and learn.
