Situated within the beautiful Blairquhan Estate, Wauchope cottage is the ideal retreat for a secluded short break. Surrounded by stunning views of unspoiled Ayrshire countryside, over 200 acres of private woodland, a garden pond and a huge walled garden, this four-bedroom self-catering cottage is newly refurbished and offers all amenities our guests will ever need to make their stay very comfortable and unforgettable.
Wauchope Cottage is one of the conversions from the former Stables Courtyard and has, in 2004, been greatly enlarged and modernised. The cottage has a large living room with comfortable soft seating, a digital TV and adjoining open plan dining room. The fully equipped kitchen has an integral hob and oven, fridge/freezer, microwave , washing machine and dishwasher. There is also a bathroom (with shower over the bath) downstairs.
Upstairs there are three bedrooms with twin beds, one family bedroom with a double and single bed and a second bathroom with bath and separate shower.

Weekend getaway to Galloway and Dumfries
Enjoyed the weekend at Wauchope Cottage. Perfect location to explore the coast and Galloway forest area of SW Scotland. House is super clean and much more room than we expected. The grounds are gorgeous and we loved walking around. It would be nice if there was an opportunity to visit the castle to see the inside. This is a fairly remote property, so be prepared to drive to anything you need. But so quiet and peaceful.

New year break
The cottage more than lived up to our expectations. Our party was two people short so we had even more room. The setting was fantastic We all love walking so we chose an ideal place. We didn’t need to contact anyone as it all ran smoothly. Thanks and we’ll definitely be back soon xx
