Best beach house, ever!

Gino and Lizette were amazing hosts! Picked us up at the bus station and let us rent their car. They brought us coffee which can be hard to find, which was a lifesaver! Very clean house and amazing pool and beach. She recommended some centoes that were perfect and nearby restaurants were great!

A great stay.

Kudos to Lizette and Gino for being professional and gracious hosts. This couple was born to be in the hosting business—excellent communication and accommodating. The property is as advertised, and I wouldn't hesitate to rent it again. We had a great time. These are lovely people, and we are grateful for having had the chance to rent from them.

Fantastic property and the perfect vacation

Our trip could not have been better due to the beautiful house and the nicest owners. The home is perfectly located in a quiet area, yet so close to everything you could need. Walking out of your door onto the sand every morning, seeing the turquoise water, is like living in a dream. We spent so many days just lying on the beach, or under the shaded area on lounge chairs, and wading into the water whenever we needed to cool off. Having the pool was also great, since we could just stare out at the ocean while relaxing in the water. The beach was never crowded. Some days we saw 15-20 people TOTAL, some days we saw NONE! It felt really private and so relaxing. Not overrun at all. I cannot say enough nice things about the owners, Lizette and Gino. They are so kind, very responsive about recommendations, and they truly want to help you have an amazing trip. They love the area, and they love sharing it. The nearby restaurants were great, everything from casual breakfast places, to very high end cuisine, and everything in between. We could easily buy fresh fruit, basic groceries, or stop by the 24-hour pharmacy for any needs. The area is very convenient for everything. We ventured to Progresso for meals a few times, which was very fun, and then we were happy to be back in our sweet quiet spot in Chilem. Can't recommend this home enough! We can't wait to go back.

Great beach house

Casa Luna is wonderful and Lizette and Gino are amazing hosts. Their pre-trip communication and the warm welcome they gave us on arrival made us feel comfortable and secure. The house is beachfront with two sitting areas overlooking the ocean as well as a pool to swim in while you watch the waves. It was a magnificent escape for us.

Wonderful Month in Yucatan

We stayed at this property for a month, working for about 2.5 weeks and enjoying a 10 day break over the holidays. - We were able to work remotely, the internet was adequate - We had a wonderful vacation, driving around the area to see Mayan ruins, cenotes, beaches and kiteboarding. The house is beautiful, the beds are comfortable, the kitchens is adequately equipped to make family meals and our hosts were extra helpful in helping us figure out the local scene. Highly recommend!

We had the best time ever

We saw this house online and fell in love with it right away - and out stay was as perfect as we could have imagined. The house itself is beautiful as is the outside part, which is where we spent most of our time. We’ve never met hosts that were as attentive as here; from the moment we made our booking they made it their goal to help us with anything we need like a rental car to making us feel at home once we arrived with a personalized messageboard, cake and coffee. Even during our stay they would always ask if everything was okay, perfect communication all around. You can tell that a lot of love has gone into designing the house and everything to go with it. What you see online is really what you get. Chelem is a charming town if you want to get away from a busy life with lots of beautiful places and beaches. Make sure to get a rental car though as you will need it if you want to visit some other places.

Wonderful Home in Paradise!

My husband, myself and two friends came to Chelem to celebrate his birthday at the lovey Casa Luna. Our expectations were exceeded for the week from the first second. The house was beautiful and comfortable and had everything we needed for the week. The pool is lovely and beach insanely beautiful. The town was charming and easy to walk into and a short drive to neighboring towns. The ability to rent a car added much value to our trip as we used it to explore nearby ruins in addition to exploring close by towns and running errands for groceries, etc. All in all I can’t say enough good things about the home and accommodations. Lisette and Gino were beyond lovely and helpful and so quick and easy to communicate with. I can’t compliment them enough! The only two notes I would make are: 1. There is no modern HVAC in the house, but there are mini splits in 2/3 bedrooms. I would make note for any guests needing to use all 3 that one bedroom does not have any AC. I know either of us couples would have been uncomfortable had we had to sleep in that room. 2. Most of the week was ideal, but our last night a group moved into the rental next door (that they also own). Usually I am down for the all night partying. But our group had a 4am wake up call for an early flight and the group partied until about the moment we had to wake up. As both properties sit very closely together it was impossibly to drown out the noise even with white noise. It was unfortunate it happened our last night when we desperately needed sleep bc otherwise the week was perfect. Would suggest better communication when there are parties overlapped as the properties share the property as a whole. Otherwise I cannot wait to come back, Chelem stole a part of our hearts and we would absolutely 100% book again! Thank you Lisette and Gino for your hospitality and beautiful home. It’s certainly a little piece of paradise! Muchas Gracias!

"IMPECCABLE"

La Casa Luna est très propre, grande, lumineuse et son architecture est originale. Son petit jardin de plantes tropicales que l'on voit du salon et de la salle à manger, est très joli. Les 3 chambres sont spacieuses et les lits très confortables. Le débit d'eau des douches des 3 salles de bain et de celle à l'extérieur, est très bon. Contrairement à d'autres endroits, comme les appartements de certains condos en bord de mer, par exemple. Ici, la maison est comme sur les photos. Le balcon face au golfe du Mexique et la très grande terrasse avec sa section dînette et BBQ, salon et petite piscine, compense largement pour la présence des brises-lames. S'avançant dans la mer, ils luttent visiblement contre l'érosion des berges. Avis aux nageurs, le golfe est à 28 degrés. Un vrai bonheur! Il est autant agréable d'y nager que d'y marcher et cela jusqu'à la taille, sur une bonne distance, tant à marée haute que basse. Durant notre séjour, occasionnellement, il y a eu des petites algues emportées par les vents, devant notre espace de plage. Cela ne nous à pas déranger, parce qu'elles sèchent très vite et ne sentent pas. Lizette et sa famille, offre un service très réactif, en répondant rapidement à nos demandes. Bravo! Ils offrent aussi le service de venir nous chercher à Mérida et de nous y reconduire lors de notre départ. Lizette, son époux et leur fils sont d'une très grande gentillesse. Nous avons aimé passé notre long séjour (26 jours) dans cette belle grande maison sur la plage à contempler les vagues et profiter du soleil. Nous recommandons chaleureusement la Casa Luna qui est "IMPECCABLE".

Beautiful home Perfect Location Wonderful Managers!

If you are coming to this part of the Yucatan, highly recommend staying in Lizette's family home. Casa Luna is a beautifully and uniquely designed high-end feel beach home .. super comfortable beds, pillows, and furniture, an abundance of quality beach and personal towels along with a kitchen well-stocked with utensils, nice pots/pans, and a variety of dishes, containers, and useful items .. rare to find in in so many rentals. The beachside landscaping is unique in that they are one of the few in Chelem who have multiple palm trees and plantings around the home, giving it a warm, green tropical feel without blocking the views and amazing colors of the water. Lizette, her son Gino, and her husband truly care that you have the best experience in their home and are available and quick to respond to any need! The location is perfect - quiet residential area near to everything you need ... you can leisurely walk to the center of town in about 30 minutes, or easily grab the bus or a tuk-tuk ( they are everywhere !) .. and if you have a car and want to explore on your own, 7 to 10 minute drives get you anywhere around Chelem ( less to go to the Mon/Thurs Natural Thangs market) and major grocery shopping if needed in Progreso (Soriana etc) is around 20 minutes and less to Progresso malecon . Staying here was a wonderful experience - thank you, Lizette & family !!

A real gem!

Everything we hoped for!! 75 feet from the ocean! Beautiful landscaping and a home that was artistically constructed and extremely comfortable for 6 people. We were pleased that Lyzette had the home well supplied and always available to answer a question or take care of our special requests. There is a plethora of restaurants to chose from in Chelem and surroundings. Our biggest decision we had to make each day - which one should we try tonight. Thank you Lysette and Gino for a very enjoyable stay. You were both delightful to work with and your rapid response to our requests made for a truly wonderful vacation.

Excellent Christmas Vacation

Our entire experience at Casa Luna feels like a dream! What an amazingly beautiful location in a fantastic location. Going to sleep with a breeze blowing through the house and the sound of the ocean in the background was the stuff of commercials or novels not reality. :) Beat nights of sleep since early 2020. The house is gorgeous and well set up for a family or couples. Waking up, Walking out the back door for coffee on the beach while watching the seabirds followed by a walk into the tortelleria in nearby Chelem was a highlight of the mornings. Our teenagers couldn’t get enough of the fresh, warm corn tortillas for ~24 pesos/ Kg. We also rented Lizette’s car and that worked out to be an amazing addition to our trip as we went early and had some cenotes to ourselves and then travelled out to Celestun for a day trip to see flamingos in the wild which was a lifetime bucket list day for my wife as we saw thousands of flamingos. Lizette and Gino were super helpful and informative as well as simply being genuinely nice people. Memories for a lifetime!!

Loved this property!

Lizette was a delightful host. Met us at the house and explained everything with lots of recommendations for what to see and restaurants. She could not have been more helpful and sweet. The house is spotless and wonderful. Having our own pool was so relaxing. The house is beautifully furnished. The white sand beach and blue green ocean made for a quiet and much needed escape.

Perfect getaway

Casa Luna is the perfect getaway. We enjoyed the beach front views in the master bedroom as well as the dining and outdoor areas. The house sits directly on the beach were you can enjoy sunsets by the infinity pool. Lizette and Gino were the perfect hosts....leaving little treats to enjoy during our stay. They treated us as family and we felt at home. The house was very clean and in excellent condition. The food market in Chelem is in close proximity to the beach house. The local freshly fried fish and grilled chicken/pork sold nearby was excellent. We will definitely return for another longer stay.
