"A great hotel close to the famous Pontocho alley. The bed and bedding were so comfortable and super clean just like all the room amenities. We love this hotel. The buffet breakfast and lunch were above average for the food quality and taste even though the selection was limited. We’ll stay here again next time we visit downtown Kyoto. "

"Completely blown away by this hotel! Friendly and attentive staff, numerous amenities and felt like an authentic Japanese experience from the moment you walk in the door. Everybody must take their shoes off at the entrance and place them in easy to use lockers. The rooms had nice Japanese touches, loungewear, amenities, water and a treat in the fridge. Access to the onsen baths was available for no cost, with a wide variety of different baths (separated by gender, no clothing), massage chairs available, free ice cream and probiotic drinks daily, free nightly soba noodles, and also coffee, tea and water available in lobby. The staff set out umbrellas for use when it was raining. They have thought of everything. Couldnt believe how great this hotel was and at such a low cost. It was also centrally located with easy access to Kyoto station and on easy bus routes to nearby attractions. "

"Staff was friendly, housekeeping did an excellent job. The only negative thing is that the smoking room allows too much smoke into the lobby and the laundry room. We used the laundry room and our clothes smelled of cigarette smoke. Maybe a better ventilation or air purifier would eliminate the smell of smoke"
