"We just love coming to this property. This time we came for a wedding at the old fire house next to the lake so talk about convenience. Came early to enjoy the outdoor, was able to get dressy for the wedding and go to and from only a short distance. Full amenities so we can bring our own food. The owners leave firewood to use and on day 2 the dog and rain rolled in so we used it all! With another night in front of us, and to our surprise, the owners refilled our wood discreetly and messaged us with the update…seamlessly. Sincere thanks to the hosts. Always a pleasure to stay."

"We stayed overnight recently on a short trip from Orange County. We were so thrilled with this place that we can’t wait to come back again and explore the area more. The hotel itself is quaint and beautiful. The grounds were covered with an array of flowers and then apple trees were blossoming so it felt like we were in Kyoto during cherry blossom season. We spent a bit of time walking around outside the lobby and the wooded areas around the end. The staff could not be nicer or more helpful. The evening happy hour with charcuterie was amazing, and when we returned from walking downtown later, they lit the fire pit in the field outside our window and we enjoyed a long evening With some wine by the fire to end the day. In the morning, we were met by an absolutely wonderful breakfast, complete with mimosas made with local apple cider instead of orange juice (orange juice was also available). Far better food than you will normally find with an included breakfast at a hotel. The property is an easy walk to the main drag in Julian. You can visit the shops and maybe spend some time at the Julian brewery as we did and then stroll back to the hotel We walked to the mine tour up the hill on Sunday morning and that was a lot of fun also. Everything within walking distance. While checking out at noon on Sunday we already knew we would be coming back as soon as we could find time. We give this place an A ."

"Here for two nights to visit friends in the Alpine area. The grounds, fire pit area, and pool/ spa are really nice. The bed was good enough. The sheets are low quality but fine for a couple nights. The breakfast is just not worth visiting. The omelettes, potatoes, and sausage were probably made days before, frozen, and then heated for the chafing dishes. Just not really palatable. If any thing, grab a coffee and yogurt and go to the Mexican restaurant in the attached shopping center. They have a good breakfast burrito! "
