"Beautiful hotel in a great location. The staff was professional and very helpful. The room was a good size and very comfortable. Loved the bed! The biggest king I have ever seen! The bedding was soft and cozy. We really enjoyed our stay. Highly recommended. "

"For people complaining about small rooms in Japan, I would have to say this is on par with the size that I stayed in both Kyoto and Asakasa. The washer dryer machine inside was clutch. They even provided the laundry detergent! I couldn't figure out how to use it and the girl downstairs actually came up and helped me set up the machine. The staff here was so friendly and the coolest thing is the hotel is in walking distance to the castle and Samurai village and also the fish market."

"Room basic however heaps of extra amenities & staff outstanding very helpful and friendly. Shown to my room & how things work. Hotel a little dated but location great I got a taxi from the station then could walk to the castle grounds & famous gardens also right next to main st & could also walk to Ninja shrine/museum, shops & Samurai area. Would recommend if you are on a budget. "

"The staff were nice. The check-in was quick and efficient. The little cake treats, and flowers in the room wear a nice touch. And the shower was one of the best ones we’ve been in. Also, the Japanese breakfast was fantastic, which was included in our rate."

"Great location, lovely and large variety with the breakfast, nice onsen, laundry machines (although only 2 so it was really busy), comfortable room (but they don't have drawers!), clean, friendly and yes-- it had amenities. We went with another couple and we were both most satisfied with the the Mitsui Garden Hotel."
