Overall great place, walking distance to Gruene Hall and short walk to the river. Very quiet and clean. The bed mattress was really soft for us and could have had more lighting in the bedroom as well as some counter space in the bathroom. Loved the location and overall quality of the room!

Great hosts!
I booked this property for my dad and son to have a fishing day trip. The staff and hosts went above and beyond to make them feel welcome. When they arrived someone was getting their room ready and had heard they would be fishing so had brought them a bait they had good luck with! The room and access to the river was perfect and they had a great time kayaking and fishing! Thanks for a wonderful time!

My lady and I needed a short weekend getaway to break free of our long work weeks the last 2 months. We didnt want to be far from home and budget for anything outrageous with our big yearly vacation already budgeted for in a few months as a family. We needed just the weekend with comfort, live music, and food and drinks. I thought it was a bit pricey compared to a few other options I came across, but once we arrived it was noticed that it was worth EVEY PENNY. Dont worry about druving, dont worry about uber. Everything is within a comfortable distance no matter the weather. Will definitely be back

Great Getaway

Peaceful river access
We came to celebrate our anniversary and throughly enjoyed staying. The beds were super cozy soft and comfy. We enjoying hanging out on the rivers edge in the evening all to ourselves.

Awesome place to stay near Historic Gruene
We really enjoyed our stay at The Casitas at Gruene. The casitas were near historic downtown and close to the water. The path down to the river was very easy to maneuver, however, it was a fairly steep walk down and back up so I would definitely recommend a golf cart if you have mobility issues or if not in the best of shape. The owners and staff were great and lots of friendly people in the shops and restaurants. The river was refreshing during the heat of the summer day and the historic downtown and local shops were great to walk around in the morning and evenings. Plenty of restaurants to choose from in the surrounding area and if you're not adverse to a short walk, there really is no need to drive. We went during the week to avoid the crowds and it worked out very well for us.

Perfect romantic setting
This was a surprise for my parent’s wedding anniversary and they had a lovely time. The river was quiet and relaxing and the room was clean and beautifully prepared. Thank you!

Great place
Very cute one bedroom cottage. High end updates and decorating. Walking distance to downtown and Gruene Hall. The backyard walk down to the river was very cool. We ended up spending the afternoon just sitting river edge and enjoying.

Short getaway
Very private stay at the casitas. Security a plus with security gates. Close enough to everything in Gruene to walk to. Beautiful grounds with abundant wildlife everywhere. Great location on the river and one of the best set-ups with a nice stone patio, fire pit, chairs and kajaks for the guests. We have already mentioned coming back with our friends to stay in all the casitas and just stay there at the river.

Gruene Casitas
It was perfect for what we wanted it for! Proximity to Gruene Hall was what I wanted and this place is close. It was very clean, cozy, and very comfortable! You can walk down to the river and sit out by the fire pits, kayak, or enjoy the gentle flow of the rapids too if you need a break from Gruene. I’d stay again

We checked in and took a picnic down to the river where the owners have a firepit, chairs, kayaks and paddle boards. So relaxing. Comfortable bed. Every amenity.

Lovely Gruene Casita
Ideal location within walking distance to Gruene Hall, restaurants, shopping, and river tubing. The Casita is perfect and romantic for two! Only recommendations would be to do something nicer with the shower (shelves, dual heads, etc.) and a less lumpy bed. Neither of these items impacted our wonderful experience. Thank you!

Romantic Getaway
Beautiful casita has everything you need to get away…even if you’re 15 mins from home. Listened to music, had a few drinks, went to dinner, slept like a baby and got much needed rest and alone time.

The mattress is terrible, pillows were too thick or too flat. The room would not cool down and it was humid. Bring your own pillows for sure! Had to call when we arrived to get access. Whoever answered answered the phone said the would send us a text explaining property access but we never received it. Luckily there was information in the room explaining property access and amenities. Nice property in good location but for the money bed and AC should be better.

Location with comfort
The proximity to all sites and food in Gruene is unmatched! This is a few homes away from the iconic historic shops and Gruene Hall, while directly across the street from amazing restaurants. The property itself is flawless. For the size there is plenty of space. Many comfort touches; clearly a very thoughtful owner. Will stay again!

This casita was very clean and lovelier then the photos. The location was fantastic and the access to the river was our favorite for morning coffee time! The only disappointment was the sleeping pillows were too thick. I would suggest packing your own pillow. Other then that, we definitely will stay there every time we visit Gruene!

Perfect Stay!
This house offers the perfect location-walking distance to everything in Gruene. The house was very clean and the hosts were wonderful. The house has a private river front area with kayaks, tubes, and a grill/fire pit and chairs. Rockin R tube rentals and shuttles was only a 5 min drive. We will definitely stay here again.
