"The biggest positive for New Yorker is it being 2 blocks from Penn station. So whether arriving early, or late it’s very easy to access no matter the time of day or night.
Being “next” to MSG & Penn station makes it very busy, but there’s also an abundance of security, NYPD, and National Guard service members, so no problem with personal safety.
Main downside, is the additional fee/taxes imposed by city & county of NY.
Budget travelers may be shocked by the additional $30 US that’s added on even for Hotels.com members.
The New Yorker, being an older art deco property, the bathroom lacked any shelf to keep personal toiletries on. Every morning & night I’d have to cross cross the room to grab items I needed to get ready.
The bed frame also shifted before I got the room & I ended banging my toe on it while walking around. Not a pleasant experience."
