Newton Dale is part of the route which the North Yorkshire Moors Railway runs through. There is a good circular, and not to difficult hike, from the train station around the valley which gives some spectacular views of the countryside also. Pickering is the main town to catch the train and there are various stops on route too.

The Station House, Levisham. This house, and other parts of the station, were use in the Sherlock Holmes episode "The Hound of the Baskervilles" (1988).

Exceptionally well decorated and beautiful home to explore the local area. Very welcoming on reception and everything you could need. Only minor gripe was the upstairs shower that was either boiling hot or freezing cold with no in between but sort that and this place is perfect.
