"It was unnerving to use a kiosk to sign in. Fortunately, a maintenance person was there to let me into the bathroom after being on the road for 6 hours! "Cons :Pool was closed for repairs. Room was busted up, large areas of distress on ceiling, several trim boards in room in need of repair, security lock/latch on door broke Pros: good price and excellent view of bay. You are right there on the water. The beach was just 50 steps away"

"Property under major renovation and not once was it mentioned on line or anywhere else. Literally walked through power tools, tarps, construction workers to get to the elevator. Our room appeared to have been renovated already but smelled like bug spray. The refrigerator was warm. The coffee maker didn't have an accessible outlet to plug it in and the people who were sent to assist in resolving any of this did not speak English and were trying to translate on an app. We could still not understand what they were saying to us. Breakfast was the same thing 3 mornings in a row and there is no convenient place to dine fir other meals. I make 5-6 trips to Norfolk a year for the past 5 years and this was the absolute worst experience ever. Oh by the way, the pool doesn't exist so don't be fooled by the pretty picture on the website!"

"Room was modestly clean at best. My room was not refreshed during my stay. Beds were not made and used towels I placed on the floor remained on the floor. Hotel has outdoor room access. I was unable to sleep due to several other hotel patrons outside my room talking loudly and carrying on between 1:00 AM and 3:00 AM. I was told by staff it was my responsibility to call police to control the situation. I will not stay at another Econo Lodge based on my experience."

"My stay was very disappointing for several reasons. First, I was sent a message in the app from my host the day before check-in that the downstairs shower/tub was taped off and unusable due to a multi day repair. This left 6 adults to share 2 showers for several nights. Reading other guest experiences, it is documented that the same night before notification of loss of shower has happened before. Second, upon arrival I was greeted with gaps in the flooring that we had to cover because they were a trip hazard for our elderly parent, horrible water stains and peeling paint on the ceiling, dirty floors, missing smoke detectors with wires hanging, no locks on sliders, and an inoperable slider in master. To make bad matters worse, 1 of the only 2 usable showers had 2 cracks in the floor which were covered by what seemed to be thick tape material. We were afraid the tape would tear and the fiberglass would cut someones foot! I followed my app instructions and messaged my host on 3 separate occasions, but he failed to reply each time. It took me several days of searching in every link, profile, posting that I could find before I found information stating I should contact the platform due to safety issues and host not responding. Unfortunately, by this time we were due to check out the following morning and I felt helpless to any resolution, so I didn't escalate the complaints. I cannot believe this home has the issues it does and is still being rented."

"Fridge never got good and cold. Kerig had mold in it we had to clean before using. No sheet pans to make biscuits on. Need hand towels in half bathroom downstairs. House was clean it is family friendly. Water is not good and hot had to wait for water to heat back up between people taking showers "

"This was such a lovely property. It has been wonderfully decorated to give you a relaxed home whilengiving the perfect beach feel. Loaction is great 3 minute walk to the beach. The owners have thought of everything to make sure your stay is worry free. If you are looking for a house for a large family this is the one !!!! All 10 of us and 2 dogs fit absolutely perfect. "
