We recently stayed at Le Méridien Noumea Resort & Spa, and overall, we did enjoy our time, though there were a few things that are worth mentioning for future guests.
At the time of our visit, the hotel didn’t appear to be operating at full capacity, which unfortunately wasn’t communicated to us beforehand. Only one restaurant was open for lunch and dinner, with fairly limited food options. A few other restaurants and the lobby bar were closed, and there was no room service available at all. It also felt like the hotel was understaffed, which likely contributed to these limitations.
Breakfast was a bit mixed; weekends were quite good with a decent spread, but on weekdays, it was repetitive and fairly limited. Another thing to note is transport: there aren’t taxis waiting at the hotel, so you need to ask reception to call one for you or use a ride app.
We did find communication a little challenging, as many of the staff spoke very limited English. Everyone was polite and tried their best, but it did make some interactions harder than expected.
On the positive side, the location really is lovely. The beach is beautiful, and the pool area was clean and well maintained, a great place to relax and unwind. These were definitely highlights of our stay.
All things considered, we enjoyed our stay and appreciated the natural beauty of the resort. With clearer communication about reduced services and a bit more availability on-site, the experience could have been even better.
