“We stayed in a quad room for £130 per night and were quite disappointed. The photos online made the room look modern and recently updated, but in reality it felt very dated, almost as if it hadn’t been refurbished in decades. The room was also not as clean as expected. One of the biggest issues was the lack of ventilation. The room became very hot, but opening the window-door wasn’t really an option as it allowed insects to come into the room. “stay here because it is very closed to the train and bus station of Hastings. the town itself doesnt have too much attractions but you can go Battle (Battle Abbey), Bodiam castle easily. Room and shared toliet is small but ok for a single backpacker”

“Husband & I stayed for 3 nights, hotel seems very run down lots of work needed especially outside, false advertising, was disappointed evening meal wasn’t available as advertised on website, also on the website it said drinks area but there was never anyone available to ask room was ok, broken floor tiles in the bathroom, curtain didn’t fit to the end of the pole on the window in the bedroom as stairs were fitted above after hotel was built, had a full English breakfast on the first morning very……

“Claverton staff, food, room and gardens all excellent. The functions on 2 nights in function room and beer garden below our room was noisy and therefore took edge off stay hence the 4 stars and would not return in the future.”

“What a beautiful location! Lovely hotel in a perfect spot. The staff were all so freindly and helpful, especially the extremely polite dark haired gentleman at the bar when we arrived. He took the trouble to show me to the room and explained everything. The breakfast was also very good, great choice and lovely to sit with a view of the Abbey. Would love to stay here again and would highly recommend.”
