An ad for Heritage Harbor popped up on my Facebook feed so I just randomly clicked it. I'm glad I did as normally I ignore ads! We made plans pretty last minute and got a wonderful cottage to stay in and enjoyed our time exploring the area. We don't often get to get away with our boys and as they age, they want to spend less and less time with us. They had a lot of fun hanging out with us, kayaking, swimming in the pools on site, fishing, and exploring Starved Rock. We ate at some fantastic places - Lodi Tap House, Lone Buffalo, and of course the Red Dog Grill. And we always love exploring the antique stores in Ottawa. We hope to stay again sometime soon - be it for some fall color enjoyment or next summer. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The only complaint about staffing was that we had rented kayaks online with Quest and when we went to get them at our designated time, they weren't ready. We had to wait about 45 minutes before they could be delivered. Granted, they gave us that time back at the end of our rental but it was a bit frustrating as we had a day planned and it shifted all of our plans around. But we had fun on the river and would do it again. The Quest staff was very nice and accommodating - not sure what the mix-up and delay was but they fixed it with no questions asked.
