"The pool appointment clean. The rooms were dirty. My feet were black if I went bare feet. Furniture run down. Sheets and towels seemed clean. Shower floor dirty. Decent pool towels Would not stay there again. Sketchy employees in office. thanks"

"I really wonder how this hotel got its certificate of occupancy! For Palm Springs this may be an ok price, but from a Nationwide point of view, to charge $300/day and have a building with such a level of deterioration and deferred maintenance is outrageous. I’d recommend to the owners of this property to have a structural assessment done. The walkway adjacent to room 216 with its railing and roof supporting framing does not appear to be sound and it is definitely out of plumb. This problem appears to extend to the roof above. The floor between the two beds in room 216 also appears very soft, as if the underlying wood flooring were deteriorated. The bathroom had numerous repairs made with sealant. Not even of same color than its substrate. The entrance room door and its hardware and lock does not appear in good condition. When we arrived they assigned us a room that we didn’t have to go in to see that it hadn’t been cleaned in a good while (we saw it from the window to the open walkway. All messed up! If I ever have to visit Palm Springs again, O’ll make sure to stay "

"Carpet was old and stained, bed was small and uncomfortable. Plug sockets wouldn’t hold the plug. Forgot to clean our room our 2nd night. Front desk staff member was uninviting and unfriendly. Pool area at night was dark 830pm bar closed (Tuesday night) The room was small and basic "

"GREATEST STRENGTH: What stood out most was the consistently professional, helpful, and genuinely awesome team at Royal Sun. Raquel welcomed us with warmth the moment we arrived. Brooklyn created a true “ahhh, that’s exactly what I wanted” moment with a drink experience that felt curated and personal; she’s a standout and could be positioned as a local mixology differentiator. Christian’s presence, hustle, and attentiveness made every guest feel seen. The High Moon team was always welcoming and fun. And although I didn’t meet Joyce, Ryzle, or Diana in person, their daily housekeeping texts conveyed genuine care. These are the employees companies work hard to keep, people whose warmth and professionalism create the kind of memorable moments that encourage guests to stay longer, spend more, and recommend you. DISAPPOINTMENT: I initially perceived the hotel as a locally curated boutique experience, which added to the magic. But small factors, like music and difficulty reaching a local front desk staff member, revealed the chain structure. For example, when I asked to change the generic lobby music by the pool, the team explained that music is managed centrally. Their professionalism was impressive, but the lack of flexibility/enablement of local staff reminded me I am at a chain. RECOMMENDATION: Seek input from staff members closest to guests. They understand what relaxes people, what resonates, and what inspires recommendations. "
