「The grounds and the view are great, the cabin has been partially restored. It was a very rustic kitchen set-up, but we made it work. Only real problem were ants. They could find a single grain of sugar anywhere.We named the rooster that hangs around there Hei-Hei. Great shower with never ending hot water.The oversized mini refrigerator was great to have keep my bag of ice for 2 day as I we used it in our cooler during the day and refreshed it in the freezer when we returned. Kept food & drinks chilled. Hot coffee pot was well used for making hot coffee and tea.Room could use a few more hooks to hand clothes and towel bars. Bed was too soft. Would prefer a firmer mattress」

「This place is beautiful. I spent almost the entire time outside on the deck. It down poured one day, what a delight to sit there on the deck and listen to the rain in the warm weather. It always cooled off when opening the windows so we were never hot. I enjoyed making meals and just sitting on the deck, enjoying incredible view. There was a cute little stand just down the road where we bought the best sourdough bread. They had tons of cute little gifts you could purchase as well. Close to Hilo...

「This place is a great - hosts are amazing people. They are intelligent, passionate, flexible, and friendly.
Sunsrise view is great. Incredibly safe environment. You really feel like you have a degree of quiet separation from the bustle of Hilo that is only a short drive away. So best of both worlds.
The tradeoff is that the village access does require a short drive on unpaved roads. So prepare mentally that this is a slightly more secluded location.
