"My wife and I booked one night in this hotel at short notice (the day before) and indicated that we we would prefer an accessible room as my wife is in a wheelchair and cannot walk at all. Unfortunately this was not available but the reception team went out of their way to find us an alternative room to best meet our needs. The room was a nice size and very comfortable but my wife did have a bit of difficulty in accessing the small en-suite bathroom in her wheelchair in order to use the toilet. The shower over bath was a definite no no for her. We had a “corner” room looking out towards the Mersey and the view of the Liver Building etc was quite spectacular. We very much appreciated the disabled parking space outside the hotel entrance. We would definitely stay here again."

"The Shankly is 100/ish years old? So it’s not going to be a pristine perfect condition facility the bathroom with the waterfall shower is great except for water temperature it was not even remotely hot. I also desperately needed grab bars I had such difficulty getting in and out of the shower and bathtub. I also wished there was soft close toilet seat"

"All the staff went beyond customer service standards. No bar but a complimentary drink to welcome and a fridge to keep bought drinks cool, so saved money. Near busy bars, shops and restaurants but the room was spacious and quiet. Would definitely use this hotel again and thoroughly recommend."

"We only stayed overnight and didn’t use any of the hotel facilities other than buying a late night snack. The hotel is really nice with the nautical theme throughout. Great location. Would definitely stay here again and probably eat in the hotel next time"

"It's a very bizarre hotel. The location is great though the surrounds ( Eccles shopping centre which appears to be being demolished) are very urban decayed but it is very short walk to Monton. The rooms are recently refurbished to a high standard and the staff excellent. The bar is a bit student common room but prices excellent. A good hotel for a cheap break if you ignore the immediate local of the hotel "

"The hotel was absolutely amazing definitely will be going back went there for me and my partner birthday weekend absolutely recommended couples to go for a break, service is outstanding very polite staff breakfast was very tasteful brought a pack on site which was prosecco and chocolates with petals absolutely made up food was delicious and drinks was perfect "
