"The hotel is a bit off the beaten path but the amenities of the hotel were what sold us, however the sauna and hot tub were not available, nor were options to look at any of the farm to table process that the website mentions. Room temperature is controlled by staff and our room was HOT! We had asked that it be set cooler but that did not happen so it was hard to get to sleep. With all of that said, the pool area was lovely! The breakfast was incredible and the staff are very lovely."

"We stayed in three different locations throughout Portugal and this was by far our favorite, I would return to this area of Portugal and this home and stay for a week! First the location is perfect ... overlooking the Douro Valley and River from a vantage point that was stellar. Each space in the house is perfectly appointed. The host is a consummate professional as well as passionate about taking good care of her customers. We arrived late due to a road construction and she and her assistant were there to meet us with warm hospitality. There was a cheese plate and wine waiting for us. All needs were attended to. There was not one thing that disappointed. A "must stay" if going to the Douro Valley."

"The property is stunning!!! The views are indescribable - you have to see for yourself to really experience. Traveled with group of 6 - late 50s, early 60s (good physical shape overall)....I will say that there are TONS of steps to get anywhere and if you are unable to do a lot of steps (I mean TONS) - this is not the property for you. If you are able to do steps you have to see this place! One thing that I'll remember is Eduardo helping us check in saying "this is your home for your stay.....treat it as such and enjoy all that the property offers"......The snack bar is meh. The breakfast buffet more than satisfying...."
