As previously mentioned by other guests, we were not given any information regarding check-in until I reached out the day before arrival. Upon entry, it was apparent that the home had not been properly cleaned. The kitchen countertops and cabinets appeared minimally wiped. The refrigerator was filthy. The bathroom was wet and visibly dirty, as was the carpet throughout the home. It did not appear that the host bothered to vacuum. The beds looked like someone had slept in them and simply pulled the sheets and comforter back up just before our arrival. When I called the host about my concerns he informed me that he did in fact clean the home. He said my concerns were personal preferences and that he could not help it if his cleaning measures did not meet my standards, and that I was free to go somewhere else. After 3 months of going back and forth with my credit card company and VRBO, VRBO apologized and finally refunded our money. It was a battle and definitely helped that we have attorney friends and family. Anyone reading this review should read the fine print regarding your rights as a guest. Proceed your booking with caution.

Our family stayed here for the Steelers/Packers game. It was about a 20 minute car ride to the stadium so nice to be away from the main area. We had to clean the stovetop ourselves as it was not cleaned before we used it. The bedrooms all had TVs. There was not a toaster or mixing bowls. There were dishes and a couple pots and pans, a coffeemaker, and air fryer. Not much silverware for 10 people the house is available for. The bathrooms were beautiful. We did not have access to the washer and dryer as the door was locked. I asked for the WiFi password but never heard back until the last day we were there. It is not written down in the home. The trash can outside was already filled so when we took ours out, there wasn’t any room for the bags of garbage, so they sat next to the can. It was a nice house, just some minor hiccups.

We were not given the check-in information until 15 minutes before check-in time. This made me nervous about the validity of the property. The VRBO information should state that so guest don't worry about it. The house was not clean - dirty floors and kitchen sink, as well as hairs & crumbs in one of the beds. The host did bring us brand new sheets for that bed & insisted that he personally cleaned the house. I would recommend a prefessional cleaner for continued rental of this property.

Host texted 4 hours before we were going to be there. Said he was having water issues. That put us in a bind since we were 750 miles from home. You would think if he knew about problems with the property, it would have been reported and not on the VRBO website. This probery was confirmed the night prior, and the money was withdrawn from my account

The place itself was nice and was a good size for our family. The 2 biggest negatives would be lack of communication and cleanliness. After booking, I reached out with a question and didn't hear back for 5 days. We also never received any check-in or check-out instructions. It took at least 24 hours to hear back what the wi-fi password was, but he didn't tell me the username, so we had to try several to figure it out. As for cleanliness, the master bathroom looked like it had just been used. The shower was wet, the floor and rugs were dirty and there was a toothbrush and toothpaste left on the windowsill. The dryer vent actually just emptied into the room and there was dust and dryer sheets all over the floor.

Very poor communication and locking the door.

When leaving, I tried locking the door by putting in the code and pulling the door shut. I did not realize that there was another step to lock the door. Therefore, there was a lock on the door inside that I locked and shut the door there were no instructions on how to use the keypad And when we arrive back that evening, we were unable to get into the house. I called the owner of the home and he came over to assist. There was a keypad by the garage and I asked him if there was a code that we could use to go into the home. He said no. But when he arrived, he immediately went to the keypad and put the garage up. The door to get into the home from the garage was locked as well. He said that he woul call a locksmith to come and unlo the door and he left. He didn’t tell me that he was leaving and I felt very uncomfortable sitting in the driveway for 45 minutes for the locksmith to come. Whe the locksmith arrived it took him a good 45 minutes to get the door unlocked. We sat in the driveway every bit of three hours. The owner of the home I asked him if he had a key he said no only the manager had a key. which didn’t make much sense to me because both of them should have a key. There should also be instructions on how to operate the keypad in the house on the counter or somewhere so that this doesn’t happen to anyone else. He never apologized for the inconvenience and I felt he was rude. The home was very clean and comfortable. There’s some problems with with the smoke are located.

Graduation weekend

Nice home and comfortable. Enough room for 8 people. Dining table has 6 chairs. Could use 2 or more chairs or bar stools. If you plan to cook, you will need pots and better pans. I’m glad I brought some after reading other reviews. I should have brought serving bowls too. There is a small charcoal grill outside.All in all, my family was comfortable and we had a really nice time. It felt like home away from home.

Great space

Loved the 4 levels! It helped give everyone space when it was needed. The house was clean and recently renovated. The beds were very comfortable. Location was good and close to everything. My only issue was lack of information about check in and leaving the home. There was no information about what needed to be done at checkout.maybe a list could be placed inside the home fo future guests. Other than that we were very pleased with the home. Thank you

Good location

Overall well. I wish the unit was a little cleaner. The property is beautiful so a little more TLC would have been good. The downstairs area needed cleaned. The bathroom floor wasn’t clean. The toilet wasn’t clean but I cleaned everything to my liking upon checking in and it made our stay better. We felt safe and enjoyed to fireplace lights.

Super nice house but poor communication

The house was very nice! I was disappointed in the communication. I messaged the host with an inquiry and did not receive a response until a month later. I requested check in instructions (wondering if a code would be sent etc) and was told “check in is at 4.” After 4 pm, I still hadn’t receive any information and had to message the host again to receive the code to enter the house. There were also no check-out instructions, other than the time. Also, the master room did not have a blanket, only sheets, and the house was extremely low on toilet paper. Other than the issues above, the visit went smoothly and the house perfect for the occasion.

Family reunion/50th anniversary

Dear Vrbo, We recently had the opportunity to stay in a home in Monroeville for a family event. The home was beautifully renovated, and it was evident that a lot of work had been put into making it very nice. However, we do have a few complaints that we believe should be addressed. Firstly, although the home was advertised to sleep 10 people, there were not enough supplies for this number of guests. We found the kitchen lacking in pots, pans, bowls, silverware and other necessary supplies. Additionally, there was no toaster, which we had to go out and purchase because we had children with us. The towels were very thin and low quality. A significant issue was the lack of a washer and dryer, despite this being advertised as an amenity. When we messaged the owner, they informed us that it should not have been listed, but this left us unable to wash any towels or clothes for the duration of our three-day stay. Moreover, many parts of the home seemed not ready for rental. While the interior will likely be beautiful once complete, it was not ready at the time of our stay. The exterior was not aesthetically pleasing, and we had to sweep the area ourselves. Given these issues, we do not feel that this home was up to the standard we have come to expect from Vrbo rentals, especially considering the price we paid. Family reunion

Clean with a lot of new updates. Bathrooms/showers were spectacular - but no towels. Parking was very limited. No washer or dryer although listing said there was.
