Not what expected

The location is very nice, although not what was expected. The photos give the impression that the house is on a hill surrounded by nothing but it’s actually very, very close to lots of other houses. Not a problem initially. The view is stunning and the house is nice. However, be warned, you are only getting half a house. The house is very basic. There is no toaster, no microwave and a tiny oven, no iron or ironing board and very little kitchen utensils. This would be a problem if you were staying for an extended period. On our third night we were joking while having dinner on the terrace about how it looked into the neighbours living room and wondered if someone was also eating on their terrace what it would be like. There is no separation. Well, later that evening we found out when we were woken up by the arrival of the next door neighbours very late and were woken again the next morning before 7am. Our stay was ruined at that point. I was thinking of contacting the owners when suddenly I was surprised to learn they were the owners!!!! It’s like you are renting rooms in their house. You hear everything, including a screaming child. There is no privacy. We do not recommend this place and don’t know how anyone could charge people to stay in their own house as if it’s a separate house. If the owners want to rent this they should do it when they are not at home. I do not know how previous reviewers could find this ok.

Tolle Aussicht

Die Wohnung liegt in der anderen Doppelhaushälfte neben der der Vermieter. Sie ist sehr sauber und schön eingerichtet. Für unsere Teenager-Tochter war das obere Schlafzimmer mit eigenem Bad ideal als Rückzugsort. Die Terrasse und Aussicht waren wunderbar. Je nach Windrichtung hört man manchmal eine größere Straße. Teilweise hat auch die Zwillinge der Vermieter weinen hören, was uns aber nicht störte. Die Vermieterin Silvia war sehr hilfsbereit und hat uns für die Strandtage einen Sonnenschirm geliehen. Insgesamt gute Lage um die Toskana zu entdecken, man braucht aber unbedingt und immer sein Auto und fährt etwa 45 Minuten zu Strand, Luca, Pisa. Nach Florenz haben wir den Zug von Pontedera genommen, was problemlos klappte.

Loved the View!

Great location for this part of Tuscana. Super clean place. Great parking. Silvia is a delight and a great host. Could use a little more kitchen things and a proper oven, but we did great. Mosquitos were an issue in this area of Tuscana so be prepared. Silvia needs to fix the screen door before the next guest they host (it was an entry point for mosquitos). Once that is done, all well be great.... ciao!

Saubere Wohnung mit schöner Aussicht

Die Wohnung Nespolo liegt in einem kleinen Ort auf einer Anhöhe mit weitem Blick in die schöne toskanische Landschaft. Das Appartment ist sauber und die Gastgeber Silvia und Giuseppe sind sehr freundliche Leute mit süßen Zwillingen. Man wohnt in ruhiger Umgebung abseits der großen Straßen, aber dennoch liegt der kleine Ort Treggiaia sehr günstig für Besichtigungen in der nördlichen Toskana. Florenz, Pisa, Lucca und Livorno sind gut mit dem Auto zu erreichen. In naher Umgebung gibt es viele Wanderwege durch die hügelige Landschaft. Wir hatten eine rundum gute Zeit bei Silvia und Giuseppe.

Charming location with fabulous hosts.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Nespolo Cottage on the outskirts of Pontedera`in Tuscany. Our hosts, Silvia and Giuseppe, couldn't have been better. They went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable and memorable. The villa comfortably accommodates 4-6 people (depending on the "mix"), is immaculate and enjoys a scenic view of the nearby valley. You do need a car here, because you are in a charming hilltop village away from the surrounding city. I would also suggest that you use the directions supplied by the owners, because the GPS in our rental car initially took us to a location several kilometers away. We took several day trips to Pisa, Florence, Siena and other local attractions that were recommended by our hosts. We decided to travel by train to Florence (7 Euros each way), which turned out to be a good decision for us. We were also able to experience the Chianti Trail (part of it) and a cheese factory near Volterra, thanks to our "tour guide" hosts. If you happen to be familiar with the area, I can assure you that there will be absolutely no pressure of any sort to participate in any of the activities that we took part in. If you want to experience the Tuscan life-style and are willing to drive yourself to most locations, you can readily schedule as many local experiences as time, and your personal preferences allow. Enjoy!

Nice, pastoral setting.

Nespolo offers a quiet, peaceful environment away from city life but five minutes walking from a small, hill-top village that has a small grocery store, a café and small restaurant. We spent every morning and evening sitting on the balcony watching the pastoral view. The owners live close and were able, if needed, to help out in anyway. The train station was about 15 minutes away and we use the train to travel to Florence and Ravenna. We also had a car and travelled to Cinque Terre, PIstoia and Lucca. A car is necessary to see any sights.

Family Vacation in Tuscany

The house of Silvia and Giuseppe was just perfect for our one week holiday in Tuscany. It is very stylish, clean, comfortable and spacious, but most of all we liked the fantastic view from the terrace. The hosts welcomed us on our arrival, explained everything about the house and were always there when we needed their help during our stay. We could make day trips to Pisa, Florence, San Gimigniano, Cinque Terre, went hiking near Calci and spent one day at Viareggio beach, all of the places were easy reachable from the villa. Silvia also helped us to make an appointment for a wine tasting, which was definitely a great experience for us. The only thing we missed in the house was a bigger kettle, it was just for 1 L, which is too little for a family of 5, but as we knew that it is not typical to drink so much tea in Italy, it was also ok at the end :)

Beautiful Tuscany

This is a gem in the heart of Tuscany. The view from the covered patio is beautiful. Silvia is an excellent host, very attentive if a problem arises, and it is obvious she takes great pride in her holiday home. There are hiking trails close by and it is very close to Pisa, Lucca and Firenze. It is quiet, relaxing, and you can truly soak in the beauty of this region. Stay here, you won’t regret it!

Roomy, beautiful view, comfortable, clean. A perfect launching location for Tuscany, it’s medieval hilltop cities, vineyards and Pontedera is a short drive north with a large grocery store, Panarama. Treggiaia is a small village with lots of character and characters. There is a lovely restaurant with a beautiful view in Treggiaia called ale 3 Rane. You must eat there and please say hello to the chef, Betha!

tolle Wohnung, super Aussicht , ideal für max. 4 - 5 Personen

Wir sind mit 4 Erwachsenen und 2 Jugendlichen angereist. Die Wohnung ist insgesamt sehr schön eingerichtet, ist aber ideal nur für 4-5 Personen. 2 Personen mussten auf einem Schlafsofa und einem Klappgestell schlafen das wir zusammen geschoben haben, bietet aber bei weitem nicht den Komfort eines Bettes. Auch waren nur Stühle für 2 Personen und ein kleiner Tisch auf der Terrasse sodass wir eine vorhandene Sitzbankgarnitur aus dem Garten holten um genug Platz dort zu haben, um nicht den Küchentisch dauernd herein und heraus zu tragen, da wir gerne auf der Terrasse gemeinsam frühstückten. Es fehlte auch an Utensilien für das kochen ! Einfache Dinge wie Kochlöffel, Schneebesen oder Schöpflöffel fehlten in der Ausstattung, dies könnte man aber auch leicht ändern. Ansonsten gibt es nichts zu kritisieren. Die Aussicht ist sehr schön und die Wohnung ist sauber und geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Auch die Vermieterin wohnt zwar neben an im gleichen Haus, ist aber falls man sie zu Gesicht bekommt sehr nett und hat uns auch mal ausgeholfen wenn was zum kochen fehlte. Die Parkplätze waren direkt vor der Haustür und das Gelände ist mit einem Rolltor zusätzlich gesichert. Wir würden jederzeit wieder die Unterkunft buchen aber wie bereits mitgeteilt für maximal 4 bis 5 Personen.

Blissful holidays !

We had a wonderful time in Chalet Nespolo. It is ideally located between Pisa, Firenze, Lucca and at reasonable driving distance from the coast and from Sienna which allowed us to enjoy a wide spectrum of Tuscany sceneries. The house was very clean and has a superb view, which made our relax time there wonderful. Silvia, the owner is very nice and thanks to her advice we discovered the Terme di Casciana which were absolutely marvellous. Overall very happy of our stay !

Fantastisch !!!!

Ja wat moeten wij zeggen, alleen al het uitzicht vanaf het balkon is onvergetelijk. Je kan kilometers ver kijken....Het huis verder is schoon en prima verzorgd en dit huis is één van de weinige verhuurde modern ingerichte huizen die wij ontdekt hebben. Toscane is overweldigend prachtig. Enige minpuntje waren de muskieten tussen 17 en 19 uur maar Silvia deed alles om dit ongemak toch te voorkomen door een insectenlamp en wierook te verzorgen. Heerlijk met open ramen geslapen aangezien deze allemaal voorzien zijn van horrengaas. Je hoorde zelfs in de nacht de nachtegaal zingen. Verder enorm genoten van de rust en dat is heel belangrijk in je vakantie ! Verder goed vertrekpunt om de steden in Toscane te bezoeken !

Spotlessly clean. Could do with a little updating.

This property is perfectly situated for Florence, Pisa, Lucca. Views from the terrace are amazing! Bedrooms large and airy with fly screens which make such a difference, plenty of storage V comfortable beds. Bathrooms well equipped and very nice. The village is v small but v beautiful. Within a 2 minute walk we can highly recommend the only restaurant Le Tre Ranes which is superb and not expensive but do book, ask for a table outside on the terrace - fabulous views. Silvia is very helpful and her and her family are delightful! We would stay here again.

Como ya habias visto en los comentarios antes de alquilar,sabia que era la casa perfecta para alojarnos,y de alli poder visitar toda la Toscana.la casa es amplia y limpia.todo estaba muy bien,y tanto como Claudia y Sylvia se desvivieron por nosotros.Si alguna vez volvemos a la Toscana,esta casa sera la elegida.Muchas gracias por todo.
