Les Belleville Portette Ski Lift Hotels

"Mountain View and ski in ski out was wonderful. Rooms were very comfy and spacious. Loved the Igloo cold room and dry sauna. An out door and bigger hot tub would fit this hotel vibe much better. Restaurants were quiet and food good but the wine list needed to be revised… the French wine selection was limited… always upselling because the desired wines weren’t available which was very disappointing and irritating…. Change the menu if the wines aren’t available. Overall - the people working at the hotel were wonderful as were the rooms. Breakfast was amazing ❣️Loved the heated locker rooms. Overall a very positive pleasant experience and atmosphere. "

"Overpriced our room was very small with a small bathroom Food was trying too hard and rather under par No tea and coffee with dinner over priced drinks Restaurant staff at dinner uninterested if you don’t order the overpriced wine and drinks "

"I was a little worried, after seeing the reviews, however all in fine. There are a few strange rules: At the end of the stay, you go to reception to claim back your deposit. They radio the manager who checks the room. I was called back down to the room. They wanted all bowls and plates to be in exactly the same place on the shelf as when you arrive. (We could do with a photo?) I also had to sweep the apartment and the chairs had to be exactly the same place as when we started. I went back to reception and the deposit was refunded. Just a little hard work and petty. But that was my only problem all week. Pros Lovely warm duvets. Great blackout curtains Quiet - apart from the beep beep of ski mobiles outside Great views over the valley All cooking equipment you need for a week Just microwave with a grill and a 2 pan stove. No oven. They supply a dish cloth and two tea towels, plus some surface cleaner. No washing up liquid. Hot water all all times of day. Lovely shower. There was a kettle also in the room. Luggage store if you need at the beginning or end. Sheets, towels all supplied. Plus towel for floor. Ski in, ski out brilliant. Ski lockers right next to slopes. I would stay again. "

"Good communication with host and caretaker to pick up keys. Good sized apartment compared to a lot. Would be tight but workable for 6 but perfect for 4. Huge amount of snow when we were there and the caretaker was out every morning and evening keeping the entrances clear. This did lead to a slight leak around the patio door which they were unable to fix but wasn’t really an issue. Note Oven is really a microwave/grill so don’t expect to use it like a normal oven. Overall great"

"We chose this apartment as previous stays in Val Thorens were higher up in the town, which made travelling to ski school with our children difficult in the past, so this apartment was ideal for us to get the children to school on time and with ease. However, we experienced a day in which 4 members of our family missed and were late to ski school as the building failed to open the ski room by 08:00am. The ski rooms should be locked 20:00-08:00, however by 08:45, the room was not opened. We tried to find staff to help us with this so we could make the 09:00 lessons and school but the room wasn’t opened until 09:20 and the lessons were not refundable. I contacted the host about this, and we did not get a reply for 2 days and the reply did not offer any advice or points of contacts, just that the room ‘should be unlocked on time’.The apartment itself was nice, it fitted 12 guests and we appreciated the large dining space were we could all eat as a family, as this is something we have not always had in other apartments, however the apartment was not clean at all. There were layers of dust (pictured below), there were cobwebs in the bathrooms, the sofa cushions were covered in stains, windows were not cleaned and 2 of the appliances (espresso machine and milk machine) did not work.We also experienced 4 x power cuts in one evening, I contacted the host about this and we did not get a reply for 2 days. "This property from the start to end with staff interaction and hospitality were unprofessional and unwilling to be courteous. The property was poorly lit, dirty, and multiple things were broken. This included a door that could not lock, broken toilet lid, terrible smell in the apartment and soiled linens. "
