Plenty of room for a large group! Location is beautiful and the grounds and pools are well maintained. The house could use a deep clean, some organization, and maintenance, but the staff and managers were responsive, incredibly helpful, and fantastic to work with.

PV vacation

The location and property on the beach is amazing!! The only issues we had was ant inside the facility and missing tiles in the pool that create an extremely dangerous surface that injured a couple of our family members. The staff were amazing. The food and service was very good.

Private retreat

This property was perfect for our group of couples. It was very relaxing, the staff took excellent care of us and the food was authentic and delicious. They were friendly and always accommodating to our needs. We would definitely stay here the next time we return.

Gorgeous Villa!

We (15 adults) had the absolute best time celebrating my 30th birthday here! The staff at the house are so wonderful and accommodating, and your jaw will drop when you see how gorgeous the house is. Keep in mind it’s a little south of Puerto Vallarta and could be difficult to get Ubers from there, but the staff was so helpful in calling taxis! The address on Google Maps is different than where the house actually is, so the airport pick up service was helpful (if not a little expensive and they ended up being a little late for us). We used “Casa Jade” to find the Villa since it was right next to it, so that might be a good option for you as well.

Corporate Retreat notes

We had a great trip here. However, I recommend closely reviewing the room situation. The bedroom description was a little misleading, which was a problem for our corporate retreat (8 adults, none of which were coupled with each other). It does say 5 master bedrooms + loft studio + children's suite, but the room layout also indicates 8 bedrooms. What you really get are: - 5 Master bedrooms (4 look out to the ocean, one looks at a wall) - all with attached bathrooms - 1 twin bed bedroom that is attached to one of the master rooms, so you have to walk through one bedroom to get to the twin room (this was problematic for us, since we needed 8 separate rooms...It doesn't have a separate entrance) - 1 office that had a blow-up mattress (the staff quickly switched this out for a real mattress) - 1 common area that had a pull-out couch that looks out over the pool (again, a problem b/c we couldn't go through this space until the person woke up) Had we known this, we probably would have booked elsewhere. However, if this layout isn't a problem for you, then it is a lovely place to stay. The property is south of Puerto Vallarta in a charming area away from the hustle & bustle. It sits above the ocean and while there really isn't a way to swim directly in front of the villa, the beach is a short walk away. The staff were friendly and accommodating. We had a couple of things that weren't purchased for us as requested, but they took care of any slip-ups right away. We also had one guest with elevated dietary needs, which they managed without issue. Communication with the booking contact was simple and easy and she was always quick to respond. So other than the room situation, it was a great stay.

Amazing PV House

We had our whole family 8 adults and 4 small children for a wonderful week together. House is very spacious and great for large group. Two beautiful pools and with incredible views. Staff at house could not have been more wonderful and accomodating. Great vacation

Family Time

Overall great place. The staff was amazing- great food prepared and so pleasant. The place is gorgeous but needs to be updated and maintained a bit better. The waterfall and pond were not working and had gross stagnant water in them right near the main pool. Teh jacuzzi smelled like sulfur and although worked well was yellow foam sometimes. Neither infinity pool was filled high enough to work as infinity pools but otherwise were good. One of the bedroom with two bed sis attached to the main suite so good for children but not adults

A beautiful, relaxing family holiday getaway

The pictures barely do this place justice. This home is beautifully appointed and well maintained. The views are breathtaking—even watching whales and dolphins from our porches. There are so many places to relax and enjoy all the beautiful nature around this home. It felt like a wonderful escape. We were a family of 10, with children 5 and 7 years old, and 8 adults and there was something for everyone. Being 20 minutes away from the city of PV and crowds during this covid time was just where we wanted to be, while still having access to the city as needed. The staff was thorough and conscientious, kind and fun. Martha, the house manager and concierge, who speaks English, led the team and knew the answer to our every question, knew how to keep us as active as we wanted to be, and how to arrange transportation as needed. Of note, since we were there in the “winter” over Christmas and New Year’s, the angle of the sun over the surrounding mountains and also partly due to a new high rise built next door, the sun was blocked from the pools every day until after 4pm. While this was disappointing, with Martha’s help, we quickly found sun at the nearby beach, an wonderful adventure park, renting a large fishing/cruising boat and even taking a pirate ship. Martha was amazing, and went beyond her job. We now consider her family! Our chef, “Cheena” prepared wonderful breakfasts and dinners, sandwiches for the kids and after noon snacks which was perfect for our group. And the margaritas never ran out! The housekeeper, Karina kept the house immaculate and Jorge and his son Jorge, drove us everywhere, kept groceries and supplies full, and maintained the beautiful grounds. Gabriel was our night security and also helped keep the property maintained and operating. This home has things wired to run perfectly and address any issues (nothing of major to note) immediately, and with a smile. We rented this partly based on previous reviews and they are accurate. If you need a beautiful escape, this is the place!

Beautiful Property South of PV

Man this was a great stay. The house is remote being nearly 30+ mins from PV proper. Still, it's in a beautiful location and just a great place over. Six stories so make sure you're ready to climb some stairs, but we didn't mind that at all. The staff was excellent. Martha was amazing. So was our chef and housekeeper. Jorge always available if we needed anything from outside the house. Negatives that were out of control of the staff/owner? Bug bites. Be prepared to come with insect repellant and use it. That is not the fault of the staff or owner. You are in a sub tropical area so it's to be expected. Overall, a lovely home and a great experience.

Relaxing week in PV

We had such a relaxing week at the house and thought the staff did a wonderful job. The food was plentiful, delicious and they kept the poolside drinks refilled. The property was great and we spent almost all day in the pool. The palapa was a welcome surprise and we enjoyed our afternoon rain showers while sitting under it. We always judge a house on whether we would return and we absolutely would. The kids and adults all had a great week and want to thank the staff again for taking great care of us.

Important disclosures for future renters

Neither in-home description nor photos nor during our correspondence was is it noted anywhere that a multi-story condominium complex is being built next to the villa creating substantial noise pollution, visual pollution, and lack of privacy. Drone made photo may be presented. Per description breakfast and dinner were supposed to be prepared by a professional chef. The woman who cooked our food was kind, helpful, and polite, but she made simple and repetitive food. The meal preparation objectively did not warrant the $ 1170 price tag. Future renters in Spanish should request daily receipts for purchased food. Despite my two requests a folder containing 41 receipts was presented just two hours before departure. Even a glance at them revealed a receipt for gasoline and kind of food which we have never seen. Staff was courteous, but we were uncomfortably surprised by the number of them and their constant public presence. At times there would be up to seven people in the kitchen/living area, resulting in us never having personal family privacy there during the day. Last but not least - the internet connection is very slow, not fast enough to download our COVID-19 pdf test files.

We miss the staff!

Villa Tortugas is a beautiful property, and we enjoyed it thoroughly. We hiked locally, went to beaches and snorkeled, did a short fishing trip and celebrated 60th wedding anniversary with extended family. The gracious staff were truly exceptional. Besides providing meals, arranging outings and preparing our celebration, they helped us deal with a medical emergency. Highly recommend.

Wonderful staff & beautiful home

The absolute best thing about staying at this home was the wonderful staff. Marta, the main woman in charge, was incredible! She helped coordinate various day trips for us, was very flexible with adjusting our meals, and helped with anything and everything we needed. Each room was cleaned on a daily basis and every morning the house would be completely spotless. Such an amazing staff to have at the house - we were worried at first that their presence would be overwhelming, but they were all so sweet and friendly to have around. The house had enough space for our large group of 18 to congregate together - either at the upstairs patio and pool or the downstairs bar area and pool. Additionally, there was a Sonos music system throughout the entire house that was convenient to use. The only major issue with the house was the terrible wifi. Throughout the entire house the wifi was terrible and would barely work. We were unable to work from home as we had planned because we could not get online and connect to any virtual zoom calls. Even when we'd have a majority of the group turn off their wifi, it still would not work. The wifi also didn't reach the downstairs pool area, which meant we weren't able to play music most of the time we were down there. It would make such a huge difference if the wifi could be improved :). The location of the home is a little far from the nearest town, about 20-30 minutes driving, and about 1 hour from PVR. If you plan on going into town often and want to be close to all the commotion, this home would probably not be ideal for you. However, because the house is fairly isolated, it is perfect for having large group gatherings with music and noise throughout the night! Overall, this house was great and I would definitely stay here again! Highly recommend for large groups!

Spectacular House for a Large Group!

We had three families with 14 people in total stay in this house for a week. The property is even more beautiful than the pictures. The rooms were elegant and well designed; most bedrooms had their own well-appointed bathrooms. The house is large; it easily held all 14 of us without feeling crowded at all. We did, however, use both the den and the rec room for two single guys to sleep; I don't think many couples would be happy on pullout couches in these rooms. We had many places to meet up in the house for the whole group/smaller groups along with the option for privacy on our shared balconies/bedrooms. We made great use of our balconies. Our group loved the pools after long days of touring; it was a pleasant surprise to have them heated and lit up at night. The sunsets were magnificent from the upper pool/balcony area. We enjoyed the meals in the lovely dining/living room areas with our big group. Carla did an excellent job feeding us everyday; we established a set time for breakfast and for dinner most days. Our group caught quite a few fish one day, and she graciously cooked those up too. She and her mother in the kitchen were a delight and are excellent cooks. They also treated us to chips and guacamole along with margaritas each mid-day. Quite the treat! She also helped us call taxis and minivans when we needed them (not as easy to get in this area as compared to Puerto Vallarta). It was about a 40 minute ride to most places we visited in Puerto Vallarta; sometimes Uber was available from the house. The driver at the house took smaller groups to Mismaloya Beach; that was helpful. The location is incredible right on the ocean with waves crashing below. A few of us worked remotely at the house most days using the wifi; each level had its own router which helped us work successfully. Our grown kids were thrilled to see whales very close to shore from the pool/balconies. My only caution would be for those with small children; there are some hazardous areas around the koi ponds and near the upstairs pool stairwell where kids could easily fall. However, for older kids and adults, this is a perfect place for a large get-together! Highly recommend!

Great time in Puerto Vallarta

We had an amazing time at this home. House was beautiful and staff amazing! The ladies cooked amazing food and took such great care of us. The pool was heated and hot tub incredible to have. We had so many whale sightings from the hot tub. I would highly recommend it! Only negatives are that there are many stairs in the house. On the main floor we had to make sure to block stairs with chairs for the babies. It is 30 min from Puerto Vallarta center, but that was ok does us.

Incredible house

I wish we could have stayed longer in this house. I brought a group of about 16 people and it was still very comfortable, nobody felt crowded. The house is incredible, very cozy, the service was excellent, the food was delicious, authentic, and homey. The ladies who run the house were extremely diligent and friendly. We would definetly stay at this house again and would recommend it everyone.

Amazing!

We just left today and already miss it! The villa is stunningly breathtaking! You will be pampered beyond belief!! Martha, Ruby and Inez were just awesome. Delish food. Delish mojitos. Delish pina coladas! Jorge and Miguel were also so helpful! We were a family of 8.5 (baby) and had such a great time! Lots of recommendations for Puerto Vallarta! I could go on and on but you get the gist - we had a FABU time! Out every need was anticipated and all requests honored! Thank you for letting us enjoy your slice of heaven! Truly paradise on earth!!!
