Almost perfect!

The house we rented in Tunquen is a magical place indeed. The view right on the cliff edge can entertain you for weeks, so does the remoteness and the fact all you hear is birds and the waves of the sea. We stayed 4 nights and were grateful to have shopped in a bigger supermarket near Santiago, as there really isn’t much around there apart from some very small shops with some essentials, but for me that was all part of the charm. The house is nicely decorated and clean everywhere….apart from the kitchen. I don’t mind that the kitchen is very old, but the cupboards really need a good scrub as every handle and inside drawer/cupboard was sticky. The fact that the oven didn’t work was also a bit of a letdown, as the small replacement electric oven really is only good for some toast. There is no plug to keep the water in the sink for dishes, nor enough plates for the dishwasher….so saving water as requested is impossible really. That’s a shame and easily fixable. We were offered some extra wood twice, also bought some as we really didn’t leave much and the owners/marcella was generally very helpful. I would stay again in a heartbeat, as the place really connects you to nature as no other.

Nos alojamos tres noches en el Estudio Música buscando una instancia de tranquilidad y relajo después de una situación familiar dolorosa, lo que se logró a cabalidad. El estudio contaba con todo lo necesario para una estadía cómoda y tranquila: baño amplio y bien equipado, cama cómoda (el colchón no era tan firme como aquel al que estamos acostumbrado, pero era un detalle), cocina con todos los implementos necesarios para preparar las comidas diarias, con frigobar incluido (se recomienda llevar hielo si lo estiman necesario). Armarios y cajoneras con espacio más que suficiente para una estadía de cuatro días. Pero lo mejor, es la tranquilidad del lugar y las hermosas vistas. Se recomienda cargar los celulares durante el día pues en dos ocasiones amanecimos sin luz en la mañana, pero lo solucionaron rápidamente (el sistema principal es solar y un uso excesivo durante la noche puede agotarlo, supongo). El vino de cortesía fue un agradable gesto y la interacción con Marcela, la administradora, fue excelente. Volveríamos encantados.

Entering this home late at night we were shocked at what a wonderful home we had rented, beautifully furnished and with great kitchen and facilities. The artwork was impressive. The Bedroom Suite was very large with both a comfortable bed and living area. It had a balcony upon which we enjoyed pisco sours while taking in the ocean views. A short walk to a spectacular private beach made the location even better. The breakfasts served were delicious and generous and brought to our bedroom suite each morning. The neighborhood is very quiet and full of very nice homes.
