“I stayed at the Avon for three nights during a multi-week ADV motorcycle trip through the Southwest and Colorado. Unfortunately, the weather in the San Juan Mountains had other plans for us, and we got thoroughly washed out. That made me even happier to have the Avon as my home base in Silverton. The location is incredibly convenient, right in the heart of town. There is a large kitchen available for guests, a spacious second-floor patio, and even a hiker box where hikers can take whatever they……

“The rooms are very clean and well-maintained.”

“Friendly and very helpful knowledgeable staff. The place is indeed full of history”

“The room was clean, but very small. The bed was only a full size, and it seemed to be a rather old mattress. There wasn't a blanket on the bed, just one on a shelf. The small refrigerator was on the floor in the corner with the microwace on top of it. There wasn't room to put our luggage anywhere convenient so we stacked it on a desk in the room.”

“Really nice place to stay within walking distance of down town”

“They list that there is a restaurant. However the restaurant hours are terrible. You can’t get breakfast or dinner. They are only open from 11-3”

“Room was clean and tidy. I had to go a block down the street to pick up the key which was taped to the outside door. A little confusing but got it figured out. No chair in the room. Tv remote didn't work. A smoke alarm in another room kept beeping all night due to low battery, fortunately I had ear plugs. All in all, I got a good nights rest, a shower and the in-room coffee.”

“Very unique property. They made us feel like family.”

“Bad smell in building. Sofa bed uncomfortable and was chilly all night. Needed another blanket. Also coffee in room was awful, coffee pot handle broken, no snacks in common room.”

“Excellent experience the place is loaded with charm and character! Thanks!”

“The carpet was stained but the room was clean. There was an odor but not very strong. It was stronger in the hall. It is a very old hotel with a certain charm from the mining days.”

“The coolest place! The host was so nice! The room was great. We highly recommend the whole experience”

“Great location, highly recommend staying here.”

“It’s what you want.”
