"There was no hot water, and when we informed the receptionist she said to run the tap for 15 minutes. That didn’t work AND the shower head was totally broken from the wall so we had to hold it while attempting to bathe ourselves. The light socket was falling off the wall, which is a serious electrical code issue, and the cable box for the TV was hanging from the cords to the TV. A very run down place, and the receptionist was unfriendly and had no sympathy about our hot water. Very disappointed when paying almost $300 for the room!!"

"Big room, clean, helpful staff and lots of facilities (the laundry room was quite useful for me). There’s even complimentary breakfast! Lots of useful places nearby as well (Safeway for supermarket shopping, In and Out, Subway, and many other places, along with bus stops)."

Best Western Plus Inn Scotts Valley

"We checked in at 11pm after a busy day. The guy at the front desk gave us our key cards and explained where to go. We got to the room and the key card was not scanning after several attempts. After a few attempts, a man inside swung the door open and looked upset. They gave us a room that was occupied! We walked back up to the front and this is where I got upset with this process. Mistakes happen and that’s fine… but when we told them we got an occupied room… the 2 workers were having a side conversation about the situation like we weren’t there. They were saying to each other “people are in that room?” “there shouldn’t be anyone in there” “they’re not supposed to be in there” “should I go ask them what they’re doing in there because they checked out earlier today” etc etc etc. Sir…. Me and my family are just trying to lay down. Figure that out later after you give me a different room. After a few minutes and having someone check a room, we finally got our new room keys. The room was dusty and had unclean spots on some surfaces. All of that being said… you get what you pay for. I wouldn’t stay here again honestly. It was a last minute booking that was close by, but I’d rather drive way farther than to stay here."

"Lovely pool area - this is what makes the place a good spot. Check in was not great, no rooms ready, also guests being told they could not have a third bed in the room even though that is what they had reserved - awkward! Spent $50 for 2 drinks & a snack in the bar while waiting (past check in time) for room to be ready. Received a text saying it was ready, then spent 15 minutes back at front desk to pick up keys, to be told it actually wasn’t ready. Ironically despite not being able to get into our room on time due to their mistakes, they refused to give us any grace in a late check out the next day. This could be a high quality place if front desk and management showed more care and attention to detail for guests. The restaurant and bar area is really beautiful, but again there was a disconnect between staff and guests which led to delays and a general sense of a lack of cohesiveness or communication between staff. Also no phones in rooms and cell service is terrible there - making it difficult to talk to anyone at the front desk. Would love to see some improvements in how guests are treated because it really is a beautiful location and has so much potential."

"This was my second stay at this hotel for WWDC! It still could use a little bit of updating in areas, but overall it was a very clean and enjoyable experience. I definitely will continue to stay here as long as I continue to attend WWDC!"
