Very friendly host who was a fountain of knowledge about the area.
The room was very comfortable and the breakfast was particularly good.
We stayed two nights.
Had a really nice stay here. The owners were really nice and attentive and the food was very tasty. Big breakfast! They also have a place to store bikes if needed. 10/10
I loved it here The owners were so helpful and accommodating My breakfast was big and I struggled to eat it all and it was delicious
They booked me a meal in a nearby hotel too My room was spacious and the bed was HUGE and comfortable with really good pillows and bedding
I will definitely go back!
Great location and about a ten minute walk from the town centre. I particularly enjoyed the breakfast, as did my partner. The host was friendly and approachable. We stayed for two nights and would stay again.
Room was nice, spacious and clean. Rest of the hotel appeared dated. Staff were very rude on arrival. Ordering breakfast the night before is not ideal - wasn’t sure if I could go down for a coffee or cold breakfast as I did not order the night before and from the attitude of staff I felt I would be turned away so didn’t bother.
I made a last minute booking at The Glen and enjoyed it. Before I checked in, they messaged me to see if I would need a supper reservation. The host met me when I arrived later, and my room was comfortable. I went and sat in the front room for a bit in the evening, and the host came out to turn on the gas fireplace for me. My room was quite cool (which I prefer) but there was a heater available in the closet. There were several menu options for breakfast (selected the night before) and it was very nice (my first time trying kippers).
The room and breakfast were perfectly adequate for myself and friend who were doing the Borders Abbeys Way walk. Unfortunately, we stayed on one of the nights when an evening meal was not available. Despite being given various options it was impossible, at short notice, to book into anywhere else that offered a meal in Selkirk. Moreover, for town which is a substantial size we found that there was only one pub open that night and it did not serve food. Pie and chips from the local emporium was our only option.
Had a lovely overnight stop here, the room was beautiful , with plent of space, and a 4 poster bed, pre booked breakfast hot tasty and just what was ordered.
Seamless check in. Room was spacious and clean with lovely big comfy beds. Breakfast was really nice and checkout seamless!

Reasonable place limited evening meal service
The hotel offers a reasonable service but there only provides one choice of evening meal which was not to our taste. We stayed on a Monday night and were surprised to find that only one local restaurant offering Indian food was open on Mondays. We found a restaurant 8 miles away which was very good but not near where we were staying. Our room was fine albeit the four poster bed was not of the classic design were anticipated
The Glen is a beautiful building, ( possibly Edwardian with a baronial influence.) Very light and airy.Bedroom was a good size, plenty of light and windows easy to open. Good en suite, nice shower with eco option. Bed comfortable.
Various breakdast options, including a packed breakfast to take if in a rush.
Host very helpful. Parking plentiful, 15-20 minute walk into Selkirk high street. Plus some pretty walks close by down to the river.
