Even better than the pictures!

From the check in to the checkout I really liked the communication to and from elk springs resort, they made sure that we had everything we needed and that we made it okay. Will defiantly go back.

Excellent Cabin Experience

Loved the room and additional amenities that we didn’t even have time to use. Need to schedule longer time to be able to enjoy all the benefits the property has to offer. Price was very reasonable. Only downside is the location and the windy, steep roads to get there. Not very safe to travel in the dark.

Bear Mountain Retreat

We were not aware it was a steep incline to get to the cabin. We had a mamma bear and 2 cubs visit the cabin the first 2 nights we were there so we were unable to cook out on yhe grill the remainder of our week there. The cabin is in a very peaceful location, we spent a lot of time on the deck while being aware of our surroundings.

Bear Mountain Retreat Cabin lives up to its name!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our family of 8 including two toddlers, felt right at home in this big new cabin! There was plenty of space and the cabin included all the amenities you could want- Hot Tub, Electric Fireplace, Grill, Fire Pit, Pool and Air Hockey tables, Retro Arcade Machine! All the appliances were full size and brand new, Kitchen and 3 bathrooms were spacious and modern, WiFi throughout with flat screen TVs in every room with Roku installed. It was an amazing home away from home! And to top it off we were lucky enough to see 2 baby bears and their momma in the woods not far from our balcony! The only negative I can even think of was the drive to get to the cabin. However, we are Floridians and not accustomed to driving through any kind of incline! Even so, I would definitely stay at this cabin again in a heartbeat! Beautifully built and designed, this cabin gets a 10/10 from our family! Thank you!!!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The six of us really enjoyed our stay at Bear Mountain Retreat. We spent most of our time in the game room. The rest of the cabin was nice, as well. The only negative thing that I could say is that the beds were a little too firm for our taste, but they were tolerable. We were delayed in getting our entry code for about an hour and did have to ask a few times to get it. The person on the phone did not know what the holdup was. We would rent this cabin again.

You Just Can't Go Wrong With Elk Springs Resort!!

It was actually mine and my husband's anniversary so we had the cabin to ourselves the first night and it was amazing! The hot tub was awesome! The beds were nice and comfortable! Then our kids came up the next night and they loved it! We had shot some pool and had a big pool tournament and played some air hockey! We had a blast! The cabin was so clean and beautiful and I highly recommend Elk Springs Resort! They're so wonderful and attentive from booking to checkout! Every time we book with them we know our stay is gonna be worry free and awesome and this time was just that, we had the best weekend!!

Birthday trip to the mountains

My daughter traveled 5 hours and the rest 3 hours to get there. I received a text while driving that our arrival would be delayed from 3 to 4:30. I actually missed my exit trying to read this last minute message and had to drive curvy backroads to correct. We then had to contact the rest of our party about the delay. By 6:00 we were still waiting to be checked in. My daughter had packed a meal to prepare for us along with a custom cake that was now sitting in the car for far too long. I was told it was in my rental agreement that it wasn’t a guaranteed check in. I’ve stayed at these cabins many times and have never been so disappointed. We actually finished filling the hot tub so the cleaners could go ahead and leave. Finally had dinner entirely too late and tried to salvage the day, only for my family’s sake. The cabin was nice but there are no views from here. The hill and parking are terrible. The fire pit table had no propane and the hot tub had no cleaner. If you pay these rates, you should have a guaranteed check in with all the advertised features working. The staff was a big disappointment along with our stay.

Steep roads are a small price to pay for this lovely cabin

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We stayed here the last week in May. We all had a great time (ages 11-81)! Overall this was a great cabin and we had a wonderful stay here. The cabin is exactly as pictured - new and beautiful. The furniture is beautiful (the couch is more comfortable than it looks in the pictures) and the decor was perfect. We had some minor issues with wifi setup and the hot tub - but Elk Springs Resort was very responsive and took care of all of our issues. We did lose power a couple times during our stay (bad storms the first night we were there - power went out during a calm time in the night and again a couple days later) - both times the power was back on within a couple hours. The cabin does feel secluded - there are a few cabins nearby but you're barely aware of them. We even saw some bears our first night there. However, the drive up the mountain was a bit much at times. We've stayed at many Gatlinburg cabins over the years and these roads weren't "scary" as there weren't sheer drop offs but there were some sharp turns, steep roads, and several one lane roads (but during our 6 nights there we only had to squeeze by another car like 3 times). Driving steep roads in a mini van is not the greatest - especially when the roads are wet from rain - my tires spun repeatedly and I wasn't sure I'd make it up (but we did). If you have all wheel drive you will be fine (we were ok in the minivan when the roads were dry). The traffic was pretty light on the days we were there so it took us about 23 minutes to get to the Gatlinburg strip most times and around 18 to get to Pigeon Forge (it took us 1 hour to get to Cade's Cove). Fixable Cons of the cabin are minimal: Only 4 rocking chairs on the decks (2 on each back deck) - this is not enough outdoor seating for a 3 bedroom cabin (we brought camp chairs with us just in case and that solved our problem). A rug at the door to come in from the hot tub would be nice to prevent slipping. Lamps on the end tables in the bedrooms would be ni

Nice Cabin, Beware of Very Steep Roads to Cabin

This cabin is new, it smells new and furnishings are new. Beautiful cabin too. Three levels with plenty of room to stretch out and relax. The bathrooms are also beautiful with plenty of hot water and good water pressure. We also enjoyed the game room with the pool table, air hockey, and arcade. The negatives: I’ve been coming to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge for over 30 years. I’ve stayed in all kinds of cabins and hotels and have had somewhere between 50-75 visits to this area of Tennessee. The roads that lead to this cabin are absolutely the most steep and windy roads I’ve ever encountered. I have a SUV and many of the times getting to and coming from this cabin, I literally couldn’t see the road over the hood of my car. It took me approximately 16 minutes off the Parkway to get to this cabin too. (And that was after I had been to it several times). I can assure you the first time to this cabin will be longer than 16 minutes off the parkway. Most of the roads you will be on are one-way, windy roads that have no guard rails and are extremely steep. Two times it literally felt like my car was going to flip over. (And I promise you I’ve been to many cabins that were way out in the middle of nowhere.) I would highly recommend you have a SUV if you book this cabin. I would also recommend some blinds in the living room area. While you are eating at the table or walking around in the living room area, you are literally staring at the next cabin over. Many times, we were looking at the guy in the cabin across the road as he washed his dishes. The jacuzzi was nice but the lights did not work and the white filter thing that floats around in the jacuzzi had quite a bit of mold on it.The fire pit is on the bottom level BELOW the jacuzzi so make sure you enjoy the fire pit before you or others get into the jacuzzi. Otherwise any water that comes out of the jacuz

Bear Mountain Retreat Review

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Overall we enjoyed our stay at Bear Mountain Retreat. The cabin is very new, and all of the bedrooms, bathrooms, living room, kitchen, etc. are in top notch condition. We loved the 2nd floor outdoor deck seating area with hot tub, gas fire pit and grill. The game room with pool table and arcade was a hit with our kids. The only drawback I would highlight to this property is the (very) steep incline and meandering drive to get to the cabin. We have stayed at other Elk Springs properties over the years - and all have been easy access up a short mountain road. This cabin is located 15-20 min. drive off of the main road into the mountain... and for many who are "used to mountain navigation" this is likely no problem. However it should be clear - you need to be very careful when driving (esp. at night) to this cabin and if you do not have 4x4 car, ensure you use "L" gear on your sedan/ minivan and be careful overall!

Bear mountain Retreat

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Upon arriving to the cabin , it is an intense drive up the mountain. I would like to let anyone know that plans to rent , THE HILL TO GET UP TO THE CABIN IS VERY STEEP. I was expecting a bit of a climb since we are in the mountains , but this hill should have been posted in the description. After a couple attempts we called for maybe a switch to a different location , but was hung up on(No help at all). I would HIGHLY recommend a SUV or Truck. After a couple attempts we made it up the hill. The cabin itself is beautifull no complaints at all about the property its self.
