Emerald View was Great. We both had a great time enjoying the Great views and relaxing in hot tub next to the fire pit. Everthing was clean and available. Close to store. Must visit 2brothers mountain coffee down the hill. Best ever!!

Be prepared for some steep roads to the cabin. The trek there is definitely a work hard to play hard kinda route and try to plan out getting there while there is some sunlight to easily see but it is definitely worth it! The views are amazing! You share the driveway area with another cabin but you go down a set of stairs to get the Emerald View Cabin and it makes it feel completely private. The kitchen was stocked with all your basic needs which make it nice to enjoy a glass of wine or making a hot chocolate at the end of the night. The location is ideal as we love to travel between Townsend and Gatlinburg. It puts you right near the Foothills Parkway for more gorgeous views of the mountains in the area. There are plenty of places to go to right around the corner, such as the Pancake House, a food truck park, and a few gas stations if you want a late night drink/snack.

We’ve been coming to the Smokies for 27 years! First time coming in the month of May. We were lucky enough to see 15 bears this trip! Cabin was comfortable and peaceful! Enjoyed our stay!!!

30th Anniversary

The cabin was perfect. The cleanest VRBO we’ve ever stayed in. This Louisiana girl was a little uneasy on the drive up the mountain but the view was well worth it! Snow was an added bonus.

Great little cabin

Really nice little cabin in a private location in Wears Valley. Beautiful valley view!! It was really quiet and private. We were surprised by the flight of steps going down to the cabin from the parking pad. We didn’t read the details in the listing close enough! The bedroom is on the lower floor accessed by a spiral staircase. Pack according. We enjoyed our stay! Perfect for a couple.

Beautiful Cabin in the Mountains

Absolutely beautiful cabin located up in the mountains. Secluded from others and lots of sightings of animals nearby hanging out in their natural habitats. The cabin was very clean, easy to get in to, and exactly as pictured. The host was very easy to work with. We had the best time. Highly recommend. Amazing view!

This cabin is perfectly situated for access to The Great Smoky Mountain National Park and Gatlinburg. I would add that this property was exceptionally clean when we arrived! I recommend hiking the 5.4 mile Cucumber Gap - Little River Loop Trail, which is only a twenty minute drive from the property. Afterwards, you will appreciate a soak in the hot tub!The kitchen is well-stocked, which allowed us to prepare meals and enjoy the setting each evening after exploring the area during the day. We took advantage of the relaxing hot tub, the charcoal grill and the beautiful views from both upper and lower decks. We did not get a chance to use the firepit on the lower deck, but I’m certain it would be lovely to enjoy on a crisp Fall evening. As far as getting to the cabin, I recommend following Josh’s alternative directions, which he kindly provided to us. Note that there is a stairway from the parking area to the entry level of the building, and a spiral staircase to the primary bedroom. Pack light!My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and would recommend this property to couples visiting the area.

Gorgeous view on the peaceful side of the smokies!

The cabin is very nice, and one of the few in the neighborhood that has a clear and beautiful view overlooking Wears Valley. It’s a 10 minute drive to town and several decent restaurant choices; and just a little bit further is Townsend, which has even more choices of restaurants and shops and ice cream :) it’s also on the edge of great Smoky Mountains, national Park, and all the amazing hikes it has to offer, as well as tubing the little river, which is minutes away. The location is great for people who aren’t interested in all the hype of Gatlinburg in pigeon Forge… and all the traffic and parking issues that go with it. The cabinet itself is really nice— especially the downstairs which opens onto its own deck with the hot tub and then the upstairs floor has a second deck— both fabulous views! There’s a fire pit there which is really cool as well and a barbecue grill, but I don’t think I would grill out there, or if I did, I would be very careful because bears are definitely roaming around. We had one come right down the side path and almost step onto the back deck and then it just passed down by and back into the woods and didn’t bother us, so no big deal, but all the neighbors were saying the same thing— that there were a lot of bear sightings… no issues, though…. Just need to be careful…and ready with the camera;) The only other thing to note, would be that there is no closing door between the two beds. The downstairs has its own entrance, but it’s a spiral staircase up to the upstairs. And the pullout bed is right above— so technically you can hear everything between the two floors— no real privacy— Just so you’re aware— it’s great for a couple, or close friends , or a family situation, but keep that in mind. All in all, a great place to stay!!!.

This cabin was absolutely perfect for our trip! The views were stunning — both sunrise and sunset were so picturesque and probably our favorite part of the stay. Even though there are other cabins nearby, it still felt private and secluded, which made it really relaxing. The location was ideal too — away from the busyness of Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, but still just a short drive to either. Highly recommend this spot if you’re looking for a peaceful getaway with incredible views!

We had a great stay at Josh’s cabin. The location was perfect, far enough from the traffic of Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge but close enough to get there quickly. There were other cabins near by but felt we very secluded when sitting on the deck. The view from the decks were amazing and included beautiful sunsets as well as the opportunity to view a couple of bears on multiple days. I would highly recommend a stay at Josh’s cabin.

Beautiful, Peaceful, & Convenient

This cabin is a great find! Enjoyed the incredible views off the porches. Very clean. Comfy bed. Loved the pool table. It’s away from the hustle and bustle while also being a very convenient launch point to GSMNP, restaurants in Townsend, and all the activities in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. There are neighboring cabins, but you forget they are there due to all the lovely trees in between. We saw more bears here than in the park! Three different sightings; two of them came into the yard, and we enjoyed watching them from the porch. We would definitely stay here again.

Fantastic mountain getaway !

Very nice and comfortable getaway. Our first trip to Gatlinburg and wasn’t sure if we were staying too far away. The cabin was comfortable,safe and fantastic location. close enough to town but far enough away, A small 15 to 20 minute drive through the Smokey mountains to Gatlinburg was just a bonus. Would definitely Recommend this cabin for any couples

Beautiful cabin!

We had a great visit at Emerald View! The cabin was clean and had everything we needed. It was a little bit difficult to find and on a fairly steep road. Also, be aware there are approximately 30 steps down the hill to enter the cabin, so not ideal for the physically challenged. However, The view is amazing with beautiful sunrises! The host was prompt with responses and very helpful! We enjoyed our stay!

Perfect getaway!

Wow this place is absolutely amazing! Me & wifey have been needing a nice break from our normal lives & this place was absolutely perfect. The views we had from the moment we arrived & seeing a bear & then a Bob cat at night were incredible. The drive up the mountain was a little nerve racking at first but we quickly adapted. Perfect location close enough to Gatlinburg & Pigeon forge. We are definitely looking forward to coming back soon.

Best cabin I’ve ever stayed at!

I had very high expectations of Josh’s cabin simply from the photos but still it exceeded my expectations! It was bigger than expected, an easier drive up the hill than expected (it’s a well paved road that any car could get up), it had every utensil we needed when cooking and no photos can do the view justice, or the afternoon sunlight flooding across the two decks into the living area. Despite the amazing light the cabin itself was very cool. The best thing for us was that the black bears often visited the yard around the house so while everyone else was driving around looking for bears we were able to wait comfortable on the deck for them to come to us! We saw 12 bears in the yard over the course of 4 days (not scary at all as both decks are very high off the ground so we just watched them playing below). Josh was very accommodating - he let us have an early check in and gave us tips as to where to see the bears; his instructions were very clear and easy. Overall cannot recommend the cabin highly enough!
