A wonderful night away in an amazing hotel, we will definitely return. Great staff, beautiful pub/restaurant & gardens.
Amazing bedroom, very comfortable bed & extremely clean - 5 stars!!🌟
Tucked in a quiet village yet close to many other Cotswold experiences we loved our stay here. Rooms are spacious and comfy, staff are friendly and helpful and it was nice to come home to the pub and restaurant after a long day of exploring.
Had a lovely 2 night stay , stayed in the summer room which we could not fault .
Service in the pub area very good and ate the first night in the pub restaurant which again was great .
A lovely inn in the Cotswolds and close driving distance to many other little towns. Everyone was very friendly and hospitable and the rooms were just as depicted. Would definitely recommend!
We had a wonderful stay in the little village. We really enjoyed the room, the friendly staff and the beautiful surroundings. The bed in our room was truly king size - and I must say it’s the best bed I have slept in on any trip I have been on. The breakfast was generous and delicious, and the staff always eager to help out.
Amazing stay at The Howard Arms. Lovely big room , very comfy bed and pillows. The food was excellent . We had dinner a couple of nights and breakfast every day . The staff are so helpful and really friendly , nothing was too much trouble . Will definitely stay there again
The Howard was a superb find for us. We had a wonderful room and loved sitting by the fireplace in the pub. Breakfast and dinner were great. Everyone should stay here!
A delightful two-night break in this beautiful cosy inn. We stayed in The Old Beams room, which is lovely. Breakfast was delicious and served in the beautiful dining room. The bar area is so atmospheric with the flagstone floor, beams, amazing fire and candlelight. The food was also fab, staff were very friendly. We couldn't have picked a better place to stay for a winter break.
The Howard Arms was fantastic! The room was clean and the bed was super comfortable. We were worried because our room was right over the beer garden, but everything was closed and quiet by 10 pm. The tavern decor is really nice and we had a very good quality dinner and breakfast there. It’s in a quaint small village and we took some lovely walks directly from the Inn. I highly recommend for a weekend or romantic getaway destination!
Ilmington is a charming village and it is still unspoilt by tourism and traffic. It is so bucolic as the sheep graze on the hills surrounding the village and the quiet of the night is worth the price of admission. We loved the Howard Arms. The Village room was spacious and had loads of history and beautiful features. Breakfasts were plentiful with good options. We will definitely stay here again if we return to this part of the Cotswolds.
Loved our stay at the Howard Arms! Surprised on the upside by the welcoming and friendly staff, the coziness of the bar and restaurant which was clearly a magnet for the local community, felt authentic and welcoming! Enjoyed a wonderful dinner in the evening, and an incredibly generous breakfast which we did not manage to finish due to the sumptuous dinner the night before! Would definitely recommend for anyone visiting the surrounding Cotswold villages if you want something cosy and authentic!
From the moment we stepped through the door to one of the nicest welcomes we have had at a hotel to the moment we left was just perfect. Our room, ‘The Study’ was superb, and so clean and comfortable, and the decor and design is beautiful. Welcome tray with great selection of teas and cafetière for coffee. We slept so well. The dining room is amazing as are all the staff, and again one of the best breakfasts ever. Howard Arms you are amazing, we will be back. Thank you Keith & Gwen
The Howard Arms is a real gem. Would highly recommend for a peaceful and relaxing getaway in an idyllic and beautiful location. Our room was spacious and very comfortable and luxurious. The dining room and bar were 5 stars!! The entire staff goes above and beyond. 🌟
Room, surroundings and staff all first rate.
Menu and variety could use some tweaking. For those, like us, staying for more than a few days the same 5 or 6 items leave little choice especially when some items are not cared for. Overall a great stay.
We both really enjoyed our selfs, the hotel was excellent and the staff couldn’t be more helpful, we had a lovely meal Friday night the food was excellent,
The staff were absolutely lovely, and the breakfast spread was one of the best I've had at a B&B. My only suggestion would be that I noticed a few spiders behind the headboard and curtain, along with some dust and cobwebs in a couple of areas, which gave the impression that those spots hadn't been used in a while. Aside from that, I couldn't find anything to fault.
If you’re looking for an authentic Cotswold experience, this is your place!
It’s set in the beautiful countryside, away from the crowded villages. The Inn is adorable, and tastefully furnished in period design. The dining room serves delicious, English dishes, and there’s a cozy pub, along with a back garden area for relaxation! The only negative was no air conditioning, but we had a floor fan that kept us comfortable.
