Big Bear Lake Snow Summit Hotels

"First off, this property is in transition from an old hotel to an updated one. We saw painting in progress. The lobby has a great vintage vibe as was the design of the microwave and fridge in our room. Our overall experience was not great though. Our room shared a wall with another and we heard them and their t v into the early morning hours. The shower was clean but took TEN minutes to get hot. Two towels and one washcloth was provided for a two night stay. The bed was a other issue and clanked when we sat down or turned over. That said, this was room15. We will hope that these negative experiences did not occur in the bungalows and other guest quarters."

"Rooms photograph well but choices were made for design and not function. Lighting at the bathroom sink was too dim to get ready, bedside lights were all glare and closet area has no light I could find. Housekeeping let down the experience with some visible oversights in the bed and bath. The mattress, pillows, and towels were nice."

"Breakfast and staff were great, however, the beds were extremely uncomfortable and hard and would make noises anytime you would move around on the bed, to the point where it felt like the bed was going to break at any given moment. The structure of the bed felt unsafe."

"This was the most deceiving place. 3 doors had been kicked in and had holes in them along with the frames all were damaged. Scuffs and damage to multiple doors, old food in the refrigerator, a broken chair, smoke detector fell off the ceiling and hit my wife in the face in the middle of the night. Ladder for the bunk bed is not attached to anything and fell over many times, once resulting in my son slamming into the floor. One of the televisions Roku box didn’t work. Be aware there is no privacy in here. The master bedroom has shutters that open to the cabin. Even when they are shut, you’ll smell and hear everyone else and they can hear you, there is no privacy available, it’s not shown in the pics. The two worst things that I didn’t mention yet were the insane cat urine smell that is soaked into the stairs and the front door doesn’t stay unlocked. If you leave the cabin without your key, you’ll be locked out and it happened to us twice. The first time we were unpacking and our toddlers were locked inside and with my wife and I outside. None of this was even remotely communicated to us. I messaged the host and they didn’t apologize, just said they can’t control the damage somebody else caused (then why don’t you fix your cabin), but honestly this place should not be available to rent. Host offered to refund the cleaning fee (100 of the 2100 stay) or have it cleaned while we were still there and soak the carpet in winter. VRBO support declared it a safety risk."

"We have stayed in several of the condos at the base of Snow Summit and this was by far the most nicely updated and well appointed unit we have rented. My family of 4 had a very nice stay, thank you!"
