Comfortable House, Nice Spot on the River
"This is a comfortable old house by a scenic bend in the river, with nice updates and everything important in good working order. We chaperoned a short spring break excursion for four HS senior boys who had the lower level rooms (and hot tub) to themselves. The common area on the main level was great for eating meals and the kitchen proved serviceable for cooking several meals. My wife and I had the upper level to ourselves. Solid Wifi if you need to work or want to stream movies. Note that it is easy to hear what is happening in the lower level common area from the main level. The location is a mile or so from the main road and quite peaceful, but close enough to Elkton to easily access a nice Food Lion and at least one good restaurant (Old 33 Beer and Burger). Day trips to Luray Caverns and Shenandoah NP are very manageable. We mostly kept clear of the river as it was still quite cold in late March. The fire pit looks nice, but there was a county-wide no-burn order in effect so we did not use it."
