「The location is not very near to the centre but it’s still manageable for a 20-minute walk. There’re also some restaurants within 5 to 10 minutes walking distance. The parking lot is at the rear of the lodge. Don’t trust Google Maps which would direct you to the front. We got a room on ground floor and I could park the car just outside the room. It saved us efforts of moving our luggages. The full breakfast was excellent though it lacked black pudding of traditional full English one.」

「I had an excellent experience. The landlord, Qin, was very enthusiastic and helpful in solving our problems. The property I stayed in was located on the first floor, right next to the reception. The room wasn’t very big but was cozy and warm. It had a bathtub with plenty of hot water available. The Wi-Fi wasn’t lightning-fast, but it was sufficient—I even managed to host a phone meeting one morning. The bed and bedding were exceptionally comfortable and clean. 「Nice accommodation in York in residential area, far from train station but nice walking along the old city walls. Hotel check in via phone but everything in easy mode. Room is nice and tidy, comfortable beds and room conditions except the shower facilities, some minor issues on the shower head holder but not affecting our stay. It is recommended if you don’t mind walking about 20mins from station. 」

「Shocking property Dirty and unfit for people to stay Completely misleading pictures Incorrect information regarding housekeeping, parking etc」

「Excellent base to visit York. A pleasant 30 minute walk along the river into York. Property was very clean and warm. Owner very attentive. Kindly left milk, tea, coffee and biscuits which we were grateful for. 」

「The property is in a great location, but is not kept in a great shape. Beds were super uncomfortable, you cold feel the mattress springs pooking you. The bathroom really need basic updates, a clean, mold free shower curtains would be enough 」
