"This is a beautiful property. We loved our room, verandah and open air shower. The bar and buffet dining was excellent. Staff was extremely courteous and professional. During our stay there it rained and we had rooms furthest from the lobby area. Parts of the walk to our room were unprotected from the rain and the walkways were quite wet and slippery despite attempts by the staff to mop. Further protection from adverse weather conditions would be appreciated. Overall, loved our stay at...

"The hotel is one of the worst hotels we have stayed in. I have been to this hotel as a child and it was a fantastic hotel back then but now its gone down so much! The room was dirty and had a terrible smell.The room looked like it wasn't clean for years. We complained to the manager and he move us to another room and it was also very dirty and my partner showed the manager the dirty parts of the room and the manager agreed that the room is not clean. "The hotel was clean and well furnished. We had a balcony room which had fabulous view of the river, a great place for watching nature around you. It was very peaceful. The pool area is good with separate pool for toddlers. This also overlooks the river. The staff were excellent. All polite and helpful which you find a lot in Sri Lanka. "Great stay here on my first night in Sri Lanka. Really clean, modern, and everything you would expect from a hotel of this quality. It's also very close to Colombo Fort station which is useful if you are going to continue the trip by train! I didn't use the pool but had a drink there and it looks great - one note was that the service was quite slow! Breakfast options were vast. Would definitely stay here again. "
