Although the surrounding area (3 km west of Galle Fort) is unassuming, the hotel itself is in a beautiful colonial style with every detail and unique decoration carefully thought through. “This was like a piece of tranquil paradise in the middle of Galle Fort. It’s excellently located for exploring the fort and the building is beautifully preserved and offers excellent and spacious accommodation. We loved the room with a garden balcony, as we could watch and hear the world go by from the comfort of our room. “One of the best hotel stays I've ever had and one of the highlights on my Sri Lanka trip. Comfortable accommodation, great restaurant and lovely staff. The people were very attentive and nothing was too much trouble. The front desk also helped me organise a wonderful day trip and transfers. The Sun House is also on a good location - in the hill area so it's quiet but close enough to the fort. Thoroughly recommend! ”
