Great view and access to golf courses
Gordon was super hospitable and kind. Had some basic groceries stocked since we were arriving late. Loved the view down the hill in the countryside. When I come back to St Andrews, I’ll stay here again!

Wonderful week
We spent a great week in this lovely house. Communication from the owners was superb and they were welcoming and considerate - living next door they were on hand and supportive without ever intruding on our time or privacy. Wonderful selection of items in the kitchen and fridge to welcome us on arrival. Extraordinary views from the property. Good access to the local towns and area, and walks out of the door. The roads nearby are minor and require a little care, but nothing unusual. Brilliant space in the house, the only difficulty being the access to the loft space which is tricky and would not suit all guests. But it was great for us and we would love to return!

Beautiful views, fantastic hosts
The property was quiet, secluded and very cosy. It had everything we needed plus a few extra treats we didn't expect. The hosts were lovely. Gordon greeted us and Marion wished my partner a happy birthday then Gordon showed us around and had a lovely chat. We had issues with our vehicle on the day of leaving and Gordon was very accommodating and treated us to an interesting discussion where we got to hear stories of his life. 5 stars for everything, we will definitely be staying again and we can't wait.

Idyllic Winter Getaway
An underrated property that offers breathtaking views and a cosy convenient getaway in the wintertime. We enjoyed the panoramic vistas while we sipped our coffees in the morning, and a cup of hot chocolate around the firepit with the sunset. I almost hesitate to write a review because this stay was such a hidden gem it is torture to spill the beans!! Will certainly be back!

What a special property this is with breathtaking views. Kitchen is well equipped, beds are very comfortable and shower is brilliant. Hosts are helpful and friendly and there was a wonderful selection of food available on our arrival. Fabulous stay, thank you 😊

Lovely Country Cottage
The cottage is a split level house with plenty of room to relax and unwind. There is a very comfortable living area on the lower level with an enclosed patio attached. There is also a separate dining room and a small dining table in the kitchen. The views of the countryside below are absolutely beautiful! There is also an outside patio area to relax on weather permitting. The bed in the master bedroom was very comfortable. The kitchen is spacious and stocked with cooking utensils if you want to prepare your own meals. Our lovely hosts, Gordon and Marion were as friendly and helpful as can be. The fridge was stocked with butter, cheese, milk, a nice loaf of hearty bread, and a bottle of wine! St. Andrews and Dundee are a short drive away and Edinburgh is a 45 minute train ride from the station only 1.5 miles from the cottage. Dinner at the nearby St. Michael's Inn is a must. We will certainly stay in this beautiful place next time we are in the area. Thank you again Gordon and Marion for your hospitality!

Absolutely fabulous in every way. Beautiful home with great view; close enough to St Andrews to head in easily but still give our fresher daughter space. They even stocked some basic food including delicious bread to get us started on arrival. We will be back!

Sorry for the inconvenience. The electric shower malfunctioned but we managed to bring in an electrician to fix it before you returned from your golf. We also offered the use of our own shower next door but you said it was not a problem. Not sure what you mean about steps. There are only seven steps in the whole house. Sorry however if the shower and steps spoiled your holiday.

It was a little interesting finding the place... But their instructions proved very accurate! Outside of that it was amazing!!! The hosts were the most genuine, kind, nice people in all of Scotland. Home is beautiful. Amazing view. Would highly recommend.

Loverly hosts,view fabulous, cleanliness was a problem Entrance room, conservatory and skylight windows in living room full of thick spider webs , dead flies , spiders and snails . Cushions and curtains dirty and stained. Kitchen tap continuesly dripping making a noice. Mouse droppings on the towels which were left on beds. Fridge had a smell and top was covered in dead insects. Rained on 3rd day and conservatory and entrance room [which contained the fridge) roof leaked. Came home a day early

Hi Angela I am very sorry to hear you were not happy with the cottage. You are the only person in five years of hosting to actually have any complaint. If you look through previous reviews - they have all said the place is spotlessly clean. However you do have some valid points and I will act on these immediately. The tap needs fixing. Any cobwebs on the skylight, conservatory and entrance annexe roofs have already been cleaned. The fridge you mentioned was spotless inside and we could not detect any smell. I agree the top did have some dead insects and this has been cleaned. Bear in mind that the fridge is over 6 foot high and is not easily noticed by the cleaners - but no excuses. You mention mice droppings on the towels which I cannot understand. We just don't have mice in the cottage. We have traps at strategic places - remember we are in the country - but have not had evidence of any mice for years. Other than the back of one cushion in the conservatory which had a small stain - I can find no evidence of cushions or curtains being dirty and stained. The curtains were all purchased at the beginning of this year and so are practically new. Your grievances appear to be centred mainly around the annexe buildings - the conservatory and the front entrance building. The rest of the cottage - the internal living areas - bedrooms, living room, kitchen, bathrooms, dining room - you didn't mention and I assume these were to your satisfaction. As I mentioned before - all our previous reviews have been very positive. Again I very much regret that the cottage was disappointing and can only offer my apologies. Regards Gordon

Gorgeous views and off the beaten path!
This was a great find off the normal tourist path and we regretted not reserving longer! The property manager was very flexible with our arrival. A countryside view that can't be beat. The location was a place that we could have seen the entire country and come back to every day. Just lovely!

The home was clean, comfortable, and nicely furnished. The kitchen was well equipped. We appreciated having a few things for breakfast. Quiet area with spectacular views. Convenient location for visiting St. Andrews and nearby areas. We hiked on the nearby path. Hosts were welcoming and kind. They made sure we had what we needed and answered our questions about the area. We enjoyed visiting with them. We were absolutely thrilled that Gordon took the time to share his insider information about St. Andrews Golf Club. We would definitely stay here again.

We had a lovely week staying in your beautiful property. Gorgeous scenery from lounge as well as from the conservatory. Would recommend this as a good base for the area. Close to St Andrew's and Dundee as well as the pretty harbours along the south Fife coast.

Fantastic wee break!
We really enjoyed our stay, the property has gorgeous views and is in a great location for visiting the surrounding area. We went to St Andrews and further down the coast to the beautiful village of Crail. Gordon and Marion were excellent hosts. A reunion with old friends.
Stayed here at bay he beginning of August with four friends. Perfect accomodation in a beautiful setting. Gordon and his cohost, Eric the cat were very welcoming and always on hand but in no way intrusive. Property was very comfortable and well appointed. The view was of course the star of the show. Can highly recommend.

What a fantastic weekend we have just had here from the day we arrived until the day we left the hosts were so nice and helpful to make sure we enjoyed our stay the beds were so comfortable too and to get up to those views each day was amazing I would highly recommend this place the host made the grandchildren and the dogs so welcome too I will definitely be back.

Weekend chill out
This was the perfect place for myself and my 2 sisters to meet for some precious time together. Gordon is the perfect host, he showed us round the property and told us where the best places to walk with the dog were. The welcome package was fantastic, as was the cottage. There was everything you could possibly need for the perfect getaway. The view was amazing and we sat in the conservatory with a bottle of wine watching the sunset. Can’t recommend enough ⭐️

A cosy cottage equipped with everything you need at any time of year. Hosts Gordon and Marion provided a generous welcome pack and were in the neighbouring property, offering assistance if needed. We had the added bonus of fresh paint and lovely new carpeting! I highly recommend this property.

Just a perfect stay.
We were given precise and clear directions of how to find the cottage before we left home. On arrival we were met with a smile and given a tour of the cottage. The cottage was beautifully clean and extremely well equipped. We were four adults with dogs and had more than ample room. The walks from the cottage were good and they enjoyed being off lead in the forest. We visited different places every day and the cottage location was excellent. Recommend the ghost tour in ST ANDREWS very informative and interesting. Yes, the cottage for -filled our needs in every way looking forward to returning in the not too distant future

Nice house great views.
Good house for a break. Great views of the countryside. Situated off a quiet country lane. The hosts Gordon and Marian very helpful with local information and kindly left some items of food in the fridge. The surrounding area is well worth a visit and some good walks from the door. Although this house is attached to theirs it's very private.

What a great holiday property! Comfortable, clean, spacious, well equipped, perfectly located in North Eastern Fife. Proprietors Gordon and Marian were ideal hosts, welcoming, accessible and helpful. The truly remarkable feature though is the view from the conservatory to St Andrew’s Bay, the Firth of Tay and everything in between - you can actually see the curvature of the earth at the horizon. Magnificent!

Dog friendly holiday near St Andrews
Enjoyed our break here. Property had stunning views which we could appreciate as weather was great. Lot's of good walks nearby for my dogs and not far to beaches, St Andrews and Dundee. Property was well equipped and owners very helpful

Fantastic Location. Fabulous Host.
Sitting high on a hill in the countryside nestled between St Andrews and Dundee this is a great venue in a great location with spectacular views . You'll be spoilt with the choice of places you can visit and things you can do. As a family we enjoyed Tentsmuir Forest - great adventure park, bike ride and miles of sand dunes and beach - and Broughty Ferry - greate shops, cafes and another great bike ride and beach.

Great cottage with stunning views
We had a wonderful, relaxing time staying here. A lovely clean cottage with perfect sized rooms in a beautiful setting. The owners were so friendly and helpful and always on hand should we have needed. The nearby walks did not disappoint and were great even in winter. Wouldn’t hesitate to book again.

Lovely week away
We had a great time staying here; the property has amazing views and lots of wildlife to be seen (and a very friendly cat who liked to pop by to say hello). It was equipped with everything we needed plus games and even some toys my daughter (4) enjoyed playing with. Gordon and his wife had put lots of essentials in the house plus extras, very nice touch. We’d love to go back one day.
