They were also very helpful in answering the many questions we had as first-time visitors to the lovely city of Bern. The Hotel National is a very old hotel, but the bathroom had been fully updated and the room was lovely. The included breakfast was very nice too — just what we needed to fuel our site seeing adventures!"

"You can book, check in, and check out without ever speaking to another person… if that’s what you like, it’s great! We certainly missed the human contact. Otherwise, it’s a good place to stay. The fire alarm was triggered while we were here (no big deal, just an alarm), which isn’t a problem except the stairwell door wouldn’t open to the lobby without a key card even while the alarm was going off, which is pretty concerning considering a lot of folks didn’t have their keycard in their pyjamas at 22:00."
