"Thankfully had a room overlooking car park, so it was very quiet. Room; secure entrance, clean room, fresh milk in fridge. Hotel centrally located, so parked car and walked everywhere, car park was free, had a barrier and plenty of spaces. Breakfast: a lot of eggs on the menu- would have liked a pancake or pastry on offer. Omelette was amazing- good selection of fruit juices and cereals."

"A great inn, in a good location. Staff were very friendly and the evening meal was excellent. The room was really nice with plenty of space, warm, clean and well equipped. Some noise carried through from other rooms but this wasn’t too much of a problem for our stay. Breakfast was ok but the full English breakfast fell a bit short of expectations. Overall would definitely recommend to stay at the Black Swan."

"“Bar only opened five weeks ago”; “kitchen only opened three weeks ago”; “we’re new and never run a hotel before”. WiFi didn’t work, consequently smart TV didn’t either. It was a bit like walking into someone’s front room"

"The staff were excellent especially the young man who checked us in, served dinner and served at the bar. I didn’t sleep much at all the first night because of the very hard mattress but after I asked if we could have an extra duvet on the bed then the second night I slept much better. Breakfast was plentiful but the service was very slow. We had dinner here both evenings and it was ok but again the service was very slow. We would stay here again."

"Room was compact but comfortable, the bed especially comfortable. Best in room coffee ever! TV was impossible to sort out, HUGE but useless. A leak from toilet cabinet meant floor was wet most of the time, and was reported to manager, I'm sure it'll be fixed for next people. Pub is oozing with atmosphere, food is excellent. Staff are great. Somebody could pick up litter outside once in a while to improve the look."

"Staff were amazing. More warnings should be provided on the availability of the pool (as there are so many children’s lessons). Very hot and an ambient stale smell in common areas. Felt a bit like a care home for walkers. Breakfast was good. "

"The Hotel has a lot of character and is in a beautiful location in the Dales. We watched lambs playing in the field as we had breakfast. There are great walks on to the Dales or down to the river from the front door. The staff were very friendly, and we had a lovely restful stay."
