Lovely property and area

The accommodation was very well equipped, with everything needed, comfy bed , lovely estate and area for walks, owners very friendly Only downside was the village pub was shut for the week, but of course this was nothing to do with the let itself. Very nice relaxing holiday

Excellent Holiday

Nicely situated, well equipped cottage on a lovely estate with lovely walks including a short stroll down to Loch Ryan. The hosts were very helpful and provided an excellent welcome pack which included delicious chocolate brownies. They also provided a good information pack on where to eat and where to visit.

Superb location

On a very peaceful country estate with access to the whole grounds, which included woodland and loch beaches. Very good paths and marked walks. Lots of wildlife and tranquility. We enjoyed an excellent week here, the Stables Cottage was well equipped and comfortable with tasteful decor. The owners were very welcoming and friendly.

Perfect for us, cosy and comfortable with everything we needed

The Rhinns is an amazingly underrated place to explore. Favorites include the hidden bays and beaches, the beautiful Portpatrick and the excellent castles and lighthouses to explore. Our stay at Stables Cottage couldn't have been better. The accommodation was perfect for us, spacious, everything in the kitchen we needed to prepare our meals, very cosy and comfortable. Angus and Kate couldn't have been better hosts and made us feel very welcome. We'll definitely be back, thank you so much, Rich and Heather

Calm and lovely

We spent two wonderful weeks at Corsewall Estate with our kids (8 and 11 yrs). Kate and Angus were extremely amiable hosts. The kids loved the Estate grounds with the trampoline and the playground with the zip line. It`s just a short walk to some very nice beaches (mostly rocky), too. Sandy beaches for bathing are also not really far, ~20 minutes by car. The surrounding has apparently not yet been discovered by a lot of tourists, which is somehow astounding given all the beaches and the nice things you can do and visit. Examples are some beautiful castle gardens (Glenwhan was our favorite but also Kennedy castle and Logan botanical gardens were nice), the ice cream factory of Cream o`Galloway and the highland coo farm Kitchen Coos and Ewes. We can definitely recommend to holiday at Corsewall!

Great little cottage in beautiful location

This was a lovely place to spend a week - the cottage is cosy and well-equipped, and the estate itself is wonderful - there are some great walks along the coast, with views of Arran on a clear day.

Beautiful, spotless, well equipped and decor in keeping with property and stylish! Grounds are fab

I booked through home and away. The owner of the property kept in touch with us from booking to arrival.. they were welcoming hosts. It was a beautiful break in lovely grounds and walks. Will certainly go back.

A perfect family holiday!

From the welcome pack to the friendly greeting and service our stay at the Stables cottage was perfect! The free use of the estates beautiful grounds was lovely. Our 6mth pup absolutely loved his freedom there and so did our kids. To top it off the cottage itself was clean and equipped with everything you could need. We had a wonderful time and would highly reccomend!

No hesitation in giving The Stables 5 stars across the board.

From being met on arrival by Kate and Angus to having free range of the estate during our stay, The Stables is the perfect escape. Dumfries and Galloway is a hidden gem of a place and the Corsewall Estate is a real jewel in the crown for anyone looking to get away from the hustle and bustle. We're keen walkers and love to be outside in any weather. We enjoy wildlife spotting too. During our stay on the estate we saw a variety of wildlife including roe deer, herons and buzzards. Garden birds are aplenty including my personal favourite, the wren. The cottage is a great base to explore the surrounding area from Lady Bay and Corsewall Lighouse within a few miles, to short journeys down to the Mull of Galloway or across the Portpatrick. Galloway Forest Park is less than an hour away and boasts some of the darkest skies in the country. You won't believe how many stars are visible on a clear night. A short walk from the cottage and you're on the shores on Loch Ryan with more wildlife and a great stretch of pebbly beach to walk along. We'll be returning for sure.

Superb cottage to stay

What a lovely place to stay . Comfy cottage with lots to do on the estate. Zip wire a big hit with kids. New trail round estate was brilliant and we startled 2 deer Lady bay was idyllic a must. Landos for food

A lovely cottage with all amenities. Beautiful grounds to explore, and beach access nearby. Great hosts, and nice goodies on arrival. Steep steps up to cottage, maybe a drawback for some.

A well kept secret. Will keep coming back

Stayed last year for the first time. The stables is a lovely comfortable bolt hole, ideal for quite cosy breaks and exploring the countryside. A very special feature is the surrounding gardens where you are free to roam and take in the scenery and wildlife. Go out around 7.30pm and watch the bats!! Thanks to Kate and Angus for another wonderful holiday. We shall be back!

Photos do not do it justice

The property was a beautifully and sympathetically converted barn, and everything described was spot on. The setting was on a working estate, it did not feel like a holiday setting, at times felt a little like you were intruding (maybe that's our stuff!). Everyone was really friendly and everything on the estate was available for you to explore which was great. The only reason I cannot give a five star rating is that for us, the cottage garden was not private enough and with the weather being so unusually gorgeous, felt there was no privacy to sunbathe. We would probably have enjoyed a winter break more as you could imagine how cosy and peaceful it would be. Everything else was perfect, and we felt privileged to have stayed. The location is perfectly based for exploring this area of Scotland.

Great value for money

Very disappointed we had to leave early to resolve work issues. What a beautiful area. If you want nice food & drink u need to venture a bit further into Port Patrick & Stranraer. Walks were amazing with our dogs. They loved it. My 10 year old was like a pup. Met the owner who had passed everything of to his son. Lots of interesting stories about the place. It was a pleasure to meet him. Lovely cottage. Hate saying this but it has to be said. We paid too little for what we got. Out of season yes, even so the prices are really below where the place is worth. There were two of us & the dogs & we thought very good value for money. It sleeps four and we thought cheap for two. They do a few extras too. Jam, butter, bread etc. Strongly recommend

A beautifully appointed cottage

This idyllic cottage is toasty warm and very welcoming, the bed is super comfy and the pillows just right. The situation is perfect for those wishing to have an away from it all break in surroundings which are tranquil. Wonderful walks over the Estate down to Loch Ryan and also coastal path walks near by. Attention to detail is obvious as is the care taken to help preserve the environment. This is a cottage which will be on our list of places to revisit. Don't just take my word for it though put this one in your favourites and visit.

Fantastic grounds , cosy cottage with all amenities , very friendly hosts

This is a well kept secret. The stables cottage is very cosy, clean and well appointed . The surrounding grounds are fantastic to wander around with deer, red squirrels , bats all to be spotted . The owners Kate and Angus are very friendly and helpful, free fuel for the log burner and helpful advice on where to go and eat in the surrounding area . We would highly reccomend a stay here. A beautiful place to stay.

Our stay at Stables Cottage could not have been better. The property is exceptionally comfortable and backs on to lovely mature woodland. The fact of where it is situated really makes it special. We particularly enjoyed being able to wander through the estate down to the shore of Loch Ryan and spotting all the abundant wildlife. Thanks to Kate and Angus for being so welcoming and providing such lovely accommodation.

Fabulous cosy cottage

We stayed for a week in this chaming, cosy converted stable cottage. The standard was exceptionally high and it felt like a real home from home set in stunning grounds. Kate and Angus could not have been more friendly and helpful. We will definitely be going back, hopefully next summer!

Fantastic Cottage

We stayed in Stables Cottage for a week at the end of October and we had a wonderful time. The cottage is absolutely beautiful, so warm and cosy but modern at the same time. Kate and Angus had made us feel very welcome by leaving us bread, milk, jam and biscuits which was lovely. They even left our children halloween treats which went down very well with our daughters. The grounds were fantastic and so big, you could have a lovely walk and not actually leave the grounds - our dog was in his element. Our children were able to use the trampoline, zip wire and climbing frame whenever they wanted to, which really made their holiday. The area was lovely with having the sea so close by and Port Patrick was great. We would definitely return to this cottage and local area. We had a lovely, relaxing week. Thank you to Angus and Kate who couldn't have been more helpful and friendly.

Delightful cottage with a real touch of luxury

Really lovely little cottage, every thing was so well thought out and pleasing to the eye. We were well catered for, with a welcome pack and endless supply of logs.Would absolutely recommend it to anyone wanting a real treat.

All expectations exceeded

We can say only the best about our stay at Stable Cottage. The apartment was so beautiful and lovely furnished. Everything fitted together and we felt so comfortable and home. The arrangement of the Cottage is at very high standard, everything was new and clean. We didn´t miss nothing. The fotos in the internet were equivalent to the real apartment. Our expectations were exceeded. The owners were very kind and always keen to help us in any case. They provided us regularly with fire wood and any tip we needed for walks or shopping opportunities. They were always contactable and we felt absolutely in good hands. In any case we would recommend the Cottage to friends and relatives.

The Stables Corsewall Estate

We had a wonderful 3 night stay at the Stables. The accommodation is wonderful - homely but with an edge of luxury especially the bed and bedding. I could have stayed in bed the whole weekend. We were met by Angus who showed us round and explained how we were welcome to walk over the estate and not to feel shy about asking for anything we needed. There was a very adequate welcome pack which is unusual nowadays and we could easily have brought no food and coped until the next day after breakfast - lovely. We knew the surrounding area quite well but the family had provided good guides to activities in the immediate area and beyond. The flat is dog friendly which is a must for us as our dog goes with us on all our holidays. He was as warmly welcomed as we were and I hope that we will have occasion to have another short break there as it was absolutely delightful. I just wanted to refit out my house when I came home. Thank you again Angus and Kate.
